Guest bigm350 Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I've heard that Ric Flair was a major influence for alot of younger guys to get in the wrestling business; particularly guys like Shawn Michaels and HHH. I've also read, I don't know how reliable this is, is that alot of the younger guys now, particularly in the indies, idolize and are influenced by HBK's style. My question is, who are the most idolized wrestlers in the business? The guys that made today's wrestlers want to get in the business. It doesn't matter where. Lucha, puroresu, WWE style, whatever. Thoughts?
CanadianChick Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I think Shawn Michaels is a pretty big one actually.
eiker_ir Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 i think thiiiiiink that Benoit idolizes Dynamite Kid
Masked Man of Mystery Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 Liger seems to inspire a lot of cruisers
Guest Zarock Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 I've heard Mil Mascaras being mentioned as the inspiration of a lot of masked guys like Ultimo and Tiger Mask, but I think Ric Flair was probably the biggest single inspiration for a lot of guys.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Rene Dupree idolizes both Ric Flair and Rick Martel.

This is so true. When I was in OVW, most of the students at the school all say Michaels is their favorite and No. 1 guy they look up to. It's like every guy I started talking to, me: "Who's your favorite wrestler?", them: "Shawn Michaels, dude.", "HBK, bro.", etc. It's really annoying. Also, there's like only one or two other guys there, that were even aware of ROH.
