Special K 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 I'll start with one of my favorite characters, who basically personifies this thread. Venom. Venom (at least Brock-wise) had a shit origin. Yet, you had this character who was basically stronger and more vicious than S-M, but he also had this just killer stalker persona, and outsmarted Petey more than once. Plus, he was IN the RIGHT. (in his mind) He WAS a terrific, terrific villain. Of course, I've never seen a character so overexposed, Venom is almost synonymous with the terrible Clone Wars era. he went to fearsome to jobbing to every fucking hero in the book, to boost sales. (Which he didn't ) The turning point was ASM 375 which was gorgeuous, (I'm a Bagley mark) but had S-M turning the other cheek to Venom. Which so dilluted both S-man and Venom. Spider-Man lets Venom, a killer, go just because he makes a truce? fuck that. Christ, that's like 12 years ago. Venom might have a life in USM, but that's me venting about a great, horrendously popular character gone to waste. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
