pochorenella 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 How often has Chavo used the frog splash? Plus, I think JBL was a little further than he should have been for the move. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I believe the last time he used it was on a tag match with Eddie vs. Team Angle. They had to improvise a finish 'cause Eddie got hurt nearing match's end. I also think maybe Benjamin was hurt too.
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Okay, I guess I'm the only one that had SD cut out with 10 minutes to go. Dammit, it came back with a black screen after the last commercial break. Oh well, everyone else that I saw was well done. Nice to see Chavo doing Eddie's moves and getting the win. I hope he keeps the frog splash. Wouldn't mind it if he started coming to Eddie's music either. I haven't seen a Smackdown in years, so the cruiserweight battle royal was something I wasn't really expecting from WWE. I don't think I can ever say a bad thing about JBL again after hearing him talk about Eddie. Smackdown can't even get more than 3 pages tonight?
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 I liked this show better than Raw actually, possibly because it doesn't get much better than seeing HHH and Bradshaw both job in the same night (to Eddie's best friend and his nephew no less). Those matches both seemed eerily similar right down to the sleeper spots used to start the "Eddie" chant. Oh and as far as the convoluted RVD chair spots, he did that springboard moonsault with the chair several times in 1999-2000, not just at Hardcore Heaven 2000 vs. Lynn. Guest beau99 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 I don't think I can ever say a bad thing about JBL again after hearing him talk about Eddie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seconded, and I don't think I can ever say a bad thing about Trips again after watching him job to Benoit, and being a total class act afterwards. I think I liked the ending of this SmackDown! more than the ending of RAW on Monday, to be very honest. Oh, and I noticed Eddie's friends won every match (on SmackDown, at least). Juventud wins battle royal, Chavo beats JBL, and Benoit beats HHH. It doesn't get much better than that.
Guest New Jake Report post Posted November 19, 2005 How gratifying it is that this week is for actual wrestlers (Chavo, Rey, Benoit) and not for overpushed, greenhorn, market failure losers (Orton, JBL, HHH).
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 If this only happened every night, I'd watch every show instead of once a year or so.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 Not sure HHH fits into the greenhorn failure category. The overpushed, overexposed son-in-law category? Check. But yeah the ending to Smackdown was a lot better than the ending to Raw. That DQ just left a really bad taste in my mouth. Of all the matches this week every one had a clean finish aside from fucking Randy Orton. New Jake might be flaming the guy big time, but here the criticism is justified. Who the fuck is he that he can't go out and job on Eddie Memorial night, to the world champ no less? HHH and JBL both went out and took a pin, you're telling me this dipshit couldn't? Which was WWE's call for whatever reason. There's alot of stuff to criticize Orton about, but the finish to this match isn't one of them.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 There are quite a few people that would agree, but lately I haven't had it in me to trash HHH. When he inevitably gets the belt back and starts burying people again, then I might. KNK, I never said Orton refused to job to Cena but why even book the match if they were going to do such a stupid finish? How about have Cena squash whoever and not have Orton on the show? Or maybe just have Cena do his tribute and walk away like they did, with no match? It made Orton look bad whether or not he thought of it when every other match had a clean finish. Guest Zarock Report post Posted November 19, 2005 The show was good. Here's some thoughts. -Carlito wasn't his usual horrible self in the ring, and I'd say he was actually pretty good if I didn't know it was him. -HHH vs. Benoit was also good. -Unfortunately missed the Chavo vs. JBL match, but it sounds good in a nostalgic way. -The CW royale was good, although Kid Kash getting eliminated by SCOTTY FUCKING 2 HOTTY is just wrong. Also, Brian "Hey, I look like that guy!" Kendrick getting out first was pretty lame. Anyways, the Orton DQ was really, really, bad. Either put the two in separate matches or just get it over with and have one cleanly beat the other.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 UPN's Friday Night Smackdown! scored a 3.1/ 5 in households, 4.89 million viewers and a 1.7/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. on Friday, according to Nielsen's fast nationals. This put it into 4th place. Credit: Marc Berman's Programming Insider/MediaWeek.com Taken from Insidepulse.com
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 That's a good rating for Smackdown! I THINK. Also, look at the RAW Superstars page, he's back to Chavo Guerrero now thank god. I hope his push starts tonight
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2005 SmackDown's been getting 2.6 - 2.7 ratings for the past few weeks, so while it's an important increase I don't really see it as a major happening. Still, good numbers for Friday Night.
