tekcop 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2005 So, Nile's playing in Memphis in January and there's no way in hell that I'm missing it. I don't really know too much about the rest of the bands playing. I've heard a song or two by each, but I'm too lazy to actually look for some of their stuff. So... how are they? While I appreciate everyone's opinions, this is very much so pointed towards Tack and Agent, but that's only because I truly love their tastes in music. Here's the bands: Hypocrisy (Fucking Horgh is their drummer!) Soilent Green Raging Speedhorn Decapitated With Passion
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 Soilent Green is pretty fun death. Raging Speedhorn is "meh" hardcore, but the dualing vocalist idea is refreshing for heavy music (the vocalist with the deeper scream/growl is the "lead singer," but the one with the higher-pitched one is one of the guitarists). Decapitated is alright, and pretty darn rootin'-tootin' brutal. With Passion...I've never heard of. Nile will kick your ass, and I'm sure you well know. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 20, 2005 Hypocrisy's pretty tight. Techy guitars, kinda deathy but not too mean. Soilent Green's a swamp death band, so naturally I love them. Decapitated is just kick-ya-in-the-teeth brutal death. Nothing special, but decent enough for an opener. I don't know the other two, but With Passion sounds gay as shit. tekcop 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2005 Soilent Green plays in Tennessee all the time, but I've never seen or heard them. This show sounds good then. Nile will be awesome, I'm sure. And the rest of the bands seem decent to really good.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2005 Nile is frighteningly overrated, but definitely not bad at all. Lately they strike me as being pretty average, but if their music translates well into a live setting, it will be chaotic and good enough to get some bleeding started amongst the rabble. You'll have some good fun with their set Hypocrisy - Pretty much everything after 2001 or so is pretty much nu metal with Abyss production so it'll probably be much louder Abyss Nu Metal live. Their older material is high quality melodic Death metal and seems to come off well live if the band is 'on'. The other ones I don't know about really so they probably stink. tekcop 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2006 Well, everyone but Nile and Soilent Green cancelled, but I'm not complaining since they played longer sets and they're the two better bands. Damn great show.
