This Week in College Football 11/21 - 11/26

Like I have the money to go to San Diego. And it's starting to look like OU will head to the Alamo Bowl for an easier match while Colorado heads to the Holiday Bowl.

And Colorado would be a much easier matchup for Oregon.

I'd like to see Oregon and Oklahoma so I can watch Oklahoma get their asses kicked in person from the Oregon section.

Want some revenge for the thumping that Oregon got in Norman last year?

I just want to see one of my better friends fuck up some OU WR's and hopefully lay out Adrian Peterson once. That's all I want.

Yeah if I was Oregon I would be sore too that a freshman who wasn't even starting ran all over our asses last season.

He may not have been starting but he ended up being a Heisman candidate. Also Notre Dame and the BCS can go fuck themselves. Ohio State lost to two great teams and Oregon lost to one amazing team. ND lost to fucking Michigan State at home and shouldn't be in this conversation.

Michigan State is the ultimate Jeckll and Hyde team. Had Oregon played MSU when ND played them, they would've lost too. MSU died after that Ohio State game, which reminds me...

"WE SHOULD'VE BEEN IN THE GAME!!"

Anyway, the program hasn't been too great since Saban left I believe.

ND would've went 10-1 on Oregon's schedule, they would've beaten Fresno State as well. Oregon probably goes 8-3 to 9-2 on ND's schedule, despite the schedule being the paper tiger that it was.

People seem to just look at second half MSU and forget that the team was completely on fire the first half of the season. If Oregon hadn't gotten assraped by USC at Autzen and had Clemens healthy now, they probably have a better shot. If anything, hold the system responsible for making nonconference winners in the major conferences finish in the top 4 to be assured a spot.

Like I mentioned before, it comes down to ratings with the major bowls now: PSU and ND are mega-draws, OSU is also a good draw, Oregon not so much, which is likely to doom them to the Holiday Bowl.

If anything college football is very similar to WWE. Ohio State is definitely HHH, and I guess Notre Dame is Hogan...

So then why aren't OU sore that USC ripped them to shreds on the biggest stage of them all and made their godly QB look like a 3rd string Pop Warner team QB?

Nobody said OU isn't sore about it. Where'd you get that at?

And yeah Peterson looked bad against USC but that tends to happen when you don't show up ready to play against one of the best teams in history. And yes I am insinuating that OU wasn't ready to play that game. They thought they had it in the bag and scoring on the first drive didn't help their attitude either. Now if they'd been prepared yeah they still would've lost. But maybe not by as much. Maybe 14-20 points as opposed to 38.

And are you insinuating Porter that Peterson isn't that good? That's rich.

Simply put, for Oregon to get into the BCS they're going to need PSU to be taken by the Fiesta Bowl first, then Notre Dame to be chosen by the Orange Bowl. Fiesta gets the next pick and is likely to take Oregon rather than a PSU-OSU rematch. If Notre Dame gets chosen first, the probability gets reduced a great deal as I can't see the Orange Bowl taking Oregon, instead taking either PSU and setting up ND-OSU or ABC brokering a deal and the Orange taking OSU, leaving the Fiesta with PSU.

Nowhere did I mention Peterson. You said that the dude wasn't even a starter when he ran all over Oregon. Kingofthe909 asked if you were insinuating whether Peterson was not good. I said that USC made Jason White, OU's best QB EVAH~! a mere mortal. Kingofthe909 then commented that USC also made Peterson look bad. Where did I, Porter, mention Peterson?

Well White is OU's best QB ever and USC made ALL of OU look foolish. Think of how many of them were drafted. Yeah there was a lot of talent on that team that USC made look like mere mortals.

And Kingofthe909. Yeah Peterson looked bad in that game but he's still one of the best players in the country. There's no denying that.

I think Notre Dame deserves their spot. The thing about Oregon, Ohio State, Auburn, etc., is that they all had the chance to win their conference and get a free BCS berth. Since Notre Dame's an independent that didn't have that chance, it's only fair that they be made some special allowances to get into the BCS.

Sure some years, Big Ten teams get screwed (this year OSU's top 8 (although they'll probably make it), but sometimes they get bonuses too. (Last year's Michigan team wouldn't have had a prayer of a chance as an at-large.

As for Oregon getting in as the other at-large, I might say give them the spot if they'd even beaten UCLA, but the fact is that most of their schedule was a joke. They beat Fresno State in a close game, they got raped by USC, and other than that, what did they do? Nothing.

If the Fiesta Bowl wants to bring in the most storied program in the country in to play the fourth best team in the country, and wants to leave the ninth best team that coasted to a 10-1 record on the sideline, I think that's their prerogative.

I'll tell you what they didnt do. Lose to a team barely above .500. If Notre Dame was any other school they wouldn't be considered for the at large bid. Look at two loss Auburn. No one is talking about them. And Notre Dame is not the 4th best team in the country. Its better for the Oregon program to go to the Holiday Bowl since they lost Clemens and have lost a step since then but they and other teams get no respect while Notre Dame always is overrated.

Notre Dame also had a chance. Don't lose 2 games, while there's higher ranked at-large teams with 1 loss. Or, join the Big East. I doubt they'd mind. Then, take your 6-5 record to the bowls.

If Tennessee loses to Kentucky, Fulmer's gone. I can't think of a more embarassing end to a clusterfuck of a season. I don't even have a bowl game to look forward to watching, goddammit.

Notre Dame's so overrated that they came with in 6 seconds of beating the best team in the country.

Notre Dame's so overrated that they lost to Michigan State.  What is your point?

He's playing the "well if so and so beat so and so" game. Which means that if MSU beat ND and USC could barely beat ND then MSU and USC would go to 6 OT's before a winner would be decided in this titanic struggle.
