Guest thebadguy76 Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 This guy is really starting to scare me. He used to entertain me as Billy Gunn back in the WWE with his mannerisms etc but now he is starting to get downright weird for some reason. Calling yourself Mr. Ass is one thing but some of the things that he has been doing since he joined TNA is another. First he ties his referee shirt at the bottom like a woman at the last pay per view and now his trailer trash haircut with it shaved all the way around and braided on top which looks ridiculous. Then last but not least you have the lamest catchphrase in wrestling: "I'm Kip James, b*tch". I'm starting to wonder if the guy is back on drugs because something just isn't right.
The Buzz Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 He's been doin the shirt thing for awhile back in WWE. I think he's just trying to get heat by being the overly feminine while not being gay. Maybe he's just trying to have an original look and trying to get himself over before his career is over.
Dangerous A Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I think he's trying to use HBK's borderline gay look thinking it'll get him over and not remembering that really only HBK can make that look work while Kip just looks foolish.
razazteca Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I'm surprised that Konnan has'nt called him Senor Culo, yet.
Guest thebadguy76 Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 uh oh, if he's trying to emulate the HBK it looks like he may have to look forward to him wearing leather chaps to the ring next. James has already worn biker shorts so he has that look covered. The whole Kip James name in general is just stupid having him share the same last name as BG James.
swan Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I never got the whole "I'm Kip James bitch" catchphrase. Did he go for the name Kip James so he could rip off Dave Chappelle's "I'm Rick James Bitch". Why else for such a terrible ring name?

Vern Gagne Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 I thought his real name is Monty Sopp.

Slayer Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 http://www.thesmokinggun.com/mugshots/soppmonty1.html That was Billy in 1990? Did he go to the Dick Clark school of age defiance?

Guest [censored] Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 It seems like every persona he has had involves homosexuality on some level or another. It wouldn't suprise me if he's truly gay. The sad part is, if he is gay, and was open in a non stupid, demeaning fashion, it would actually make for an interesting character which he has never and will never be.
Corey_Lazarus Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 The original New Age Outlaws were interesting...since they were just flat-out pricks who loved to offend and annoy. I actually LIKE the "I'm Kip James, BITCH!" catchphrase. It's a dumb name, true, but I like catchphrases or shirts or logo's for wrestlers that reference other aspects of pop culture.

KingPK Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 But that catchphrase isn't as big as it was when Chappelle's Show was on the air. He's a bit too late to the party here. Of course, I have no idea why bookers still think this guy will EVER get over as anything but Mr. Ass.
Guest Coffey Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Eh, it's just Gunn trying to hop onto another bandwagon like he did with South Park when the New Age Outlaws were hot.
Guest JMA Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Eh, it's just Gunn trying to hop onto another bandwagon like he did with South Park when the New Age Outlaws were hot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The difference is that South Park was actually hot at the time. The whole "I'm Rick James, bitch!" catchphrase became overplayed a long time ago.
Silence Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 One of the other reasons that "I'm Kip James, bitch!" really sucks is that Tenay sounds awkward when he says it on commentary. "He says he's 'Kip James, bitch!'"
Mystery Eskimo Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 Monty Sopp. I love that name. He should have gone with that and told people they were going to be Sopp-erized. Or something.

HBK makes that look work? For real?!?
David Blazenwing Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Eh, it's just Gunn trying to hop onto another bandwagon like he did with South Park when the New Age Outlaws were hot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I missed that... how did he play off South Park?
The Niggardly King Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Monty Sopp... sounds like a dish.

I do believe Road Dogg and Billy Gunn (obviously BG and Kip James, respectively) also stole a few lines from the show to use in promo's now and then.

And then the next year, we had...Golga, the South Park loving big guy.
Darthtiki Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Frankly, I think Ced said it best when he named his football team Kip Sopp's A Bitch
Guest JMA Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 So, if the James Gang thing happens is there anything popular the duo can latch onto today?
ChrisMWaters Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 So, if the James Gang thing happens is there anything popular the duo can latch onto today? Homestar Runner characters. *Pictures Kip James in a Strong Bad mask.
