Wow, UCF is in the C-USA title game? That may be the biggest turnaround of the year.

Otherwise, this is quite a boring week.

I loathe conference title games.

Why is Akron playing the MAC Title game?

What genius picked the ACC title game for prime time? Probably be three and half hours of Musburger defending Bowden and Bowden's son, while Virginia Tech wins by about three TD's.

The MAC's lovely tiebreak system for a 3-way tie is strength of schedule in the conference. And, I guess, Akron played the best teams from the West side.

It's either that or Brent at the Big 12 title game making 300 Northwestern references because Barnett is coaching...

Here's a Notre Dame nightmare BCS scenerio:

Colorado beats Texas

Georgia beats LSU

Florida State beats Virginia Tech

Texas drops to #3, Ohio State (or Oregon) jumps to #4, thus they get automatic bids as Top 4 teams which would supersede Notre Dame's status as an automatic qualifier. Notre Dame then would have to go to the Car Care bowl as the Gator Bowl already gave out it's invite.

Hmmm... yes, it's tough.

I really want to see Texas get blown out in the title game, for obvious reasons.

But, ND suffering may take precedence.

The other funny thing about that scenario is that there are so many big upsets involved, that when the dust settles the championship game would be relatively uncontroversial. USC would obviously be #1 and Penn State would be a clear #2 being the only 1-loss conference champion (from one of the top 5 conferences). Now the other games would be total ass:

Fiesta: Colorado vs. Ohio State

Orange: WVU/FSU vs. Texas

Sugar: Georgia vs. WVU/FSU

Of course if UCLA somehow beats USC, all bets are off...

Texas won't get blown out b/c every Big XII team is so awesome and Texas is the #1 offense! Damaramu will tell you!

Wow thanks for the trolling for absolutely no reason. Not enough trouble being caused in this college football thread?

The question this weekend will be if the point total for the UCLA/USC game will be higher for the football game or their basketball game later this year...

Besides that great matchup I'm really looking forward to this week, I think Georgia-LSU and FSU-VT could be pretty good, fun games.

I'll be excited for the UCLA/USC game. Karl Dorrell is the coach for UCLA right? Well he went to the same high school as Reggie Bush, so there is that Helix connection. Oh and I think UCLA will be a possible stiff test for USC, as I've seen a few games of theirs and they have performed very well (No I didn't see the Arizona game).

To measure about where UCLA will be at for USC, their offense is much, MUCH better than Fresno State's, and better than Notre Dame (although not by much). I don't know how their defense stacks up against the other two teams that gave USC fits this year, but Maurice Drew will be the best running back the Trojans have faced all year, and if the Bruins can try and control the clock, and keep the Trojan offense off the field (and more importantly, the Bruin defense) I'd say they have an excellent shot.

The Arizona game was a complete fluke. Hell of a bad day, and I hate that it happened to such an undeserving team, considering that UCLA might even get a shot at playing for a national championship if they beat USC this weekend, if only that Arizona game hadn't fucked up their chances.

On that note, a UCLA-Texas bowl matchup would be (or would've been) pretty good, I think.

I just hope USC isn't caught looking ahead to the title. They really need to hunker down and focus on UCLA. A win over UCLA should help them in the rankings and to push them further apart from Texas, because who are they kidding? UCLA > Colorado by a long shot.

Is the game being played at the Rose Bowl or the Coliseum? Obviously it should still be a pretty mixed crowd, but it'd be nice if it was a home game. I think last year's, unfortunately, was at the Rose Bowl.

After last year. I don't see it happening. USC's dominated everyone they where close against last year, so far this season.
