Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Well since the regular season is over I just have to say that it sucked because not only did OU suck but one of my big questions still wasn't answered: Which Stoops brother is the better head coach? I tried to say last year that it was obviously Bob but everyone here tore my head off. So I decided to give Mike a chance and see what happens. I'm still going with Bob just b/c his program wins and he won the national title in his second year. Bob has tons more talent to work with than Mike does and a better program to win with. But OU was fucking terrible when Bob showed up. He didn't even recruit the national title team of 2000(Derrick Strait was the only one).
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Arizona was in much worse shape with way less talent, remember they had just had a mutiny against John Mackovic prior to Mike's arrival.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 With Willie Tuitama at quarterback, Arizona is going to be a bowl team next year. Good lord ABC is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the BCS bowls that everyone already knows are going to be. Then ESPN is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the other bowls where the only suspense left is if the Outback Bowl will take Iowa or Michigan. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 OU is so close to being in the Top 25. They're the next team waiting to enter. But they're 23 in the BCS. So we go to the Holiday Bowl to play a team that likes to throw...and we can't defend against the pass. Sucks. I'd rather go to the Alamo Bowl. We could take Iowa. Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 It should be interesting to see how Notre Dame plays against Ohio State's tough defense. Should be a great game.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Poor Penn State. They have a comeback year, ranked number 3, first BCS game and it turns out they are in a dud against FSU. Why couldn't they make PSU/ND happen by throwing some cash around?
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 It should be interesting to see how Notre Dame plays against Ohio State's tough defense. Should be a great game. If I'm Ohio State, I'm probably worried about giving Weis a month to gameplan for them. With an extra week of preparation, ne very nearly beat a USC team that was much better than Notre Dame. Why couldn't they make PSU/ND happen by throwing some cash around? My guess is the whole Paterno/Bowden and that they're playing ND next year anyway.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 There was really no cash to be thrown around. The Orange Bowl had nothing to gain by just handing Penn State to the Fiesta Bowl.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 The Rose and Fiesta look good but I'm not terribly excited about the Sugar and Orange bowl.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I'm sure they could have essentially bought a selection from the Orange Bowl.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) Will John Saunders be sucking the BCS' dick as much next year when Fox owns the BCS? Edited December 4, 2005 by therealworldschampion
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) "ESPN College Gameday Bowl Selection Show presented by Outback" Well that explains why the Outback Bowl is the only bowl that isn't really known yet. Let me guess ESPN will create some artificial drama the entire hour and not announced if it's Iowa or Michigan until the final segment. Okay nevermind they did it the first segment, Iowa gets the nod, Michigan will go to the Alamo Bowl. Edited December 4, 2005 by Bored
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 I like the way the games ended up even though I'm disappointed the Ducks didn't get there (although there's absolutely nothing to argue about since all the qualifiers were automatic). All four games have interesting aspects/storylines to them. I think people are overlooking the Sugar Bowl which should be a strong game. And the Orange Bowl could also be good depending on which FSU team shows up.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Well okay there's your first upset, Gator Bowl takes Virginia Tech over Miami. Not that Miami can be too broken up they get more money by going to the Peach Bowl.
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2005 Wow it only took 4 minutes for someone on ESPN to start complaining about the BCS. And they didn't do the predicted "wait until the end of the show to announce the Outback Bowl" stunt.

The only trouble that Oregon could possibly have is Adrian Peterson. But hey put 8-9 people in the box. It's not like Bomar or those WRs can beat you. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 One final change to the bowls, Music City Bowl sticks with Virginia and Georgia Tech ends up all the way down in the Emerald Bowl. Woo woo. I might actually be able to go to this one, though I'm a bit fearful was to what Minnesota's "insert running back, accumulate 200 yard game" offense can do to a bend-don't-break 3-4. Guest Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Too many large conference teams playing mid major teams. Also, the interesting teams are either shoved far back or are playing bad teams that they will obviously beat. Ex. Michigan vs Nebraska, Alabama vs Texas Tech, Georgia vs WVU and FSU vs Penn State
Slayer 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Michigan vs Nebraska is one of the few I want to see, being both a Michigan fan and an ardent Nebraska hater Georgia vs WVU and FSU vs Penn State Yeah, the BCS works my ass... At least ND-OSU could be a compelling match up, but hating both teams puts me in a bad spot with regards to watching... who do I want to lose more?
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2005 Georgia vs WVU and FSU vs Penn State Yeah, the BCS works my ass... The BCS is to match up the top 2 teams in the championship game, not to completely eliminate all conference affiliations with bowl games. I guess you would rather have: USC vs. Penn State Texas vs. Notre Dame Georgia vs. WVU Florida State vs. Miami Because that's what would have likely happened in the past. Guest Report post Posted December 5, 2005 (edited) No, it wouldn't have been. The Fiesta Bowl wasn't even major and the Cotton was in it's place. At least ND-OSU could be a compelling match up, but hating both teams puts me in a bad spot with regards to watching... who do I want to lose more? I want ND to lose under all circumstances but that's one game that I will not be watching. Edited December 5, 2005 by Kingofthe909
