therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I guess I just don't see the big city rivalry there, at least when it comes to sports. Boston-New York for sure. Maybe it's due to being more of a hockey fan and the big Philly rivalries are with Pittsburgh and New York. Philly-NY Giants in football, Philly-Boston in basketball. Probably because it gets so cold up here in the Northeast in the winter and we have nothing to do but drink and yell at the TV.
Bored Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 Okay game over, Rose Bowl is decided, I'm creating the thread so and we'll see how long it takes to get closed.
Guest Leelee Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 It comes from a hatred of California itself and most everything for it. I don't hate the state of Texas like I do the state of California. I've met Texans I've liked. I've never met a Californian that wasn't a stuck up holier than thou asshole. That's weak reasoning. How do you feel about Arizonians.

Yeah I'm not a big basketball guy, so I wouldn't be really in tune with the Sixers-Celtics rivalry.

therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 I fucking hate this Taco Bell commercial with the dude doing the whole dance in front of the building...

How do you feel about Arizonians. Meh isn't anything there except for cactuses and bad football... I thought that, also. Part of the reason why I moved here. But, the Phoenix area is huge and doesn't resemble anything of the desert. Anyway, carry on with your hilarity, kids. You've made possibly the most boring day of college football ever, a little exciting with your silliness.

Hogan Made Wrestling Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 This FSU-Virginia Tech game seems like it's going to be pretty competitive.
Bored Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) Georgia has the SEC title wrapped up. There's a decent chance they'll be ranked below West Virginia in the BCS, although they'll get a big bump in the polls after a dominating performance so they might jump them. Who would have even thought there was a possiblity the Big East champ would end up higher ranked than the SEC champ? Edited December 4, 2005 by Bored
Guest Leelee Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 This means a likely Georgia-WVU Sugar Bowl. Big ratings.
therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Shut the fuck up Saunders. "The BCS was designed for this" It's still a shitty system, every blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.
CanadianChris Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Is anyone else as sick as I am of John Saunders continually and shamelessly sucking the dick of the BCS?
Guest Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Any NFL team would eat the Trojans for lunch. Ok you were angry that Texas was running up the score....so what about USC? Is it ok for them to have Leinart throwing for the endzone? It's not ok. I do have a problem with it when the starters are doing it. Also, USC will beat Texas by 17 points.
Guest Leelee Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 It's not just Saunders, it seems like all of the ESPN/ABC clowns have warmed up to the BCS.
Slayer Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Gino Toretta's been coaching him? he's fucked!
Robert Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 It was funny seeing ESPN throwing reasons at why the BCS isn't bad. This was the same station that was against this. I personally don't care about where I'm from when it comes to a rivalry. I'm from Wisconsin and I like the Bears. Hopefully, the Rose Bowl will as good as the last Bowl game I went to (PSU/Miami) and that game was just awesome to see.
therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) 10-3 Florida State If FSU pulls this off, I imagine we're getting Paterno vs. Bowden in the Orange Bowl. They also talked about at halftime that if VT loses this, Ohio State and Notre Dame clinch BCS bowl berths. Edited December 4, 2005 by therealworldschampion
Bored Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 If this holds up the Peach Bowl could end up with a Virginia Tech/LSU match-up. Quite the coup for them.
therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Marcus Mexico tosses a pick and FSU has the ball at midfield.
therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 VT is having a meltdown, about to be 17-3 Florida State.
CanadianChris Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Touchdown FSU. I don't see Tech coming back from this. They look completely disorganized and out of control.
Slayer Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Fuck. I know my g/f's family in Blacksburg is probably going "Why the fuck can't we beat FSU?!"
therealworldschampion Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Why the hell hasn't Mickey Andrews ever taken a HC job? The man is a fucking mastermind.
CanadianChris Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 1st and 10 Virginia Tech at their own 1. They're done. FSU could get a safety here the way things are going.
Urban Warfare Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 (edited) Wow, FSU about to go up by 21. Edit: Cancel that, FSU takes a holding penalty. Edited December 4, 2005 by hockey_fan
Bored Posted December 4, 2005 Author Report Posted December 4, 2005 What's amazing about this is coming into today the latest reports had FSU possibly being shipped out to Boise for the MPC Computers Bowl if they didn't pull off the upset.
