I picked up HBK's autobiography earlier today after learning last night that it had been released. I read it all the way through on the plane ride from Chicago to L.A.

It cost me $28 after taxes (ouch!)but it was worth it. It was probably my favorite non-Foley WWE book, although I haven't read Flair's.

I've always been a Bret Hart fanaticand hated Michaels as a person, but I love his ring work, and I can now say that I thoroughly enjoyed his book.

Has anyone else read it?

I read the Monteal and Sunny Days (that chapter really shows what a douchebag HBK is) excerpts thanks to the Internet, but what does he say about I Lost My :) ?

Scroby, I'd have to skim back over certain parts to answer that. I of course remember the book, but no exact quotes. My brain's still recovering from jet lag.

Deon, in regards to losing his smile, Shawn actually mentioned something along the lines of his mother noticing that he was beaten and worn down and saying that he never seemed happy anymore, and that he had lost his smile. I'll look up the exact quote in a little while.

Also he tries to legitimize his knee injury as the reason as to why he couldn't wrestle at WrestleMania 13 (which was an awful WrestleMania save for one match).

I'm not really interested in reading the book. From the excerpts I read it came off like bad slash fan fiction.

I thought this was common knowledge.

When I mean legitimize his knee injury, I mean that he tries to make it seem like his knee was so shredded that there was no possible way he could walk, let alone work at WrestleMania. He writes how he went to see Dr Andrews (I think) and Andrews telling him his career was over, etc, etc. He seems to downplay his not wanting to job to Bret, and tries to spin it that his knee was totally brutal which is funny considering his great return match on Raw with Austin vs Owen and Bulldog.
