therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Any season-ending college football highlight package MUST include the John L. Smith meltdown at OSU.
Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 There's always going to be a part of me that resents the whole of college athletics because of every DeShawntoine Phelps and D'Awntwain Jones that gets free sex, a free education, carte blanche to do any sort of illegal shit they want because they didn't have a father and they need Coach to act as a surrogate daddy and unlock their potential, while there are actual deserving students who struggle to pay their tuition. That said, I do want to watch this Rose Bowl If only all the players were well-off white kids from stable families in quiet little suburbs. GO ARMY IN '48! So you think the system is perfect. People bitch about the lack of a playoff and how you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO KNOW WHO IS THE BEST NO MATTER WHAT, but if you only let in, say, Czech-calibre recruits, the quality of play would dive. You're channeling bitterness and jealousy towards players that meet NCAA but also their own schools' requirements as college athletes. Not to mention all the money this stuff generates for each university so pencilnecks can bitch about how athletes have better lives than them while they sit in their new dormitories or libraries or whatever else the MILLIONS that college football alone infuses into successful programs lead by those scary brown people from the cities who, if things were as easy as they appear to you, get Magna Cum Laude degrees from their respective universities while receiving blowjobs in their dorms by a line of attractive young women when they should be in their classes before going home when they aren't playing football. Or should people who can't afford a college education just go learn how to dig ditches? Fuck off.
Matt Young Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 So Dama, even though you probably hate USC for destroying Oklahoma, you're definitely rooting against Texas, right? I'm considering heading to Papa Joe's tonight to watch the game. Like I said, I don't support either team, but a bar full of rowdy USC fans should add to the atmosphere.

I despise USC and it's not for the OU blowout. I'm definitely rooting for Texas. But if Texas loses I wouldn't care.

I figured an Oklahoma fan, much less a student at the university, could never root for the Longhorns. But no big deal; I was just curious.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Oh god I can't take all the hype or the waiting! My confidence is destroyed! USC by 50!

Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 If Texas enters the final quarter trailing, they're sunk. The biggest 15 minutes of the game will be the third quarter. USC 42 Texas 31
therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC doesn't have all of the celebrities at this game...
Art Sandusky Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Seeing that iPod crap out of nowhere made me want to vomit.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Lee Corso wearing that longhorn head was actually pretty funny. He almost popped a blood vessel when he was talking about the game too. This pre-game show has been awful with that stupid Farrell-McConnehy segment.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Any idea if OJ is there? Or if they will show him on screen?
therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 USC has The Fonz in their corner...
UZI Suicide Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 OJ isn't there unless he bought a ticket.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 (edited) C'mon, do they really need to sing EVERY American hymn in existance? And I detest when singers turn the anthem into a pop song, with all these stupid flourishes that shouldn't be there. Edited January 5, 2006 by CanadianChris
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 OJ isn't there unless he bought a ticket. Disrespectful. OJ should be on the sideline damnit!
KingPK Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Hmm, Texas wants to see if they can stop USC right off the bat, it seems.
Guest Smues Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Start the fucking game already. They delay the start of games wayyyy too much these days. It's not like the game isn't going to take at least 4 hours anyway.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I'm predicting a low-scoring first quarter. Both these teams will start out slow.
CanadianChris Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Fumble recovered by USC. That's a bad, BAD sign for Texas.
therealworldschampion Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Texas turns the ball over on downs, USC gets the ball at midfield.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Well I don't even want to watch the game anymore now. They had USC with a 3 and out then they give up the fumble then they stupidly go for it on first down. Retards.
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Big suprise, Mack Brown with the first big coaching error.
sfaJack Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Dumb, dumb, dumb. Stupid decision to go for it and most certainly the wrong play call.
Damaramu Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 You have a 240 pound FB? Why not send him in there to pound it?
Urban Warfare Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I don't disagree with the choice to go for it, but rather the horrible play call. I don't understand why they didn't run that zone-option play that they love to run.
