I believe that was because of a bad snap, but I could be mistaken, It's been awhile with alot of bad moments.

 

And I meant start Davis and have Gado as the backup.

 

But I really wouldn't mind re-signing Davenport. He shows he can be a good #2 runningback but I'm really not sure if we really should re-sign Green though, he gets injured a lot and still has the tendency to fumble.

Profootballtalk, which has been braying of late that GBP’s only rational course is to trade Favre (possibly to the Saints), came up with more ammo yesterday (scroll down a bit on the link):

 

A league source tells us that the Packers will take a $2.8 million cap hit if quarterback Brett Favre is traded or released in 2006.

 

 

 

But letting him go, via trade or otherwise, will save $7.2 million against a cap number that otherwise will be $10 million.

 

 

 

We’re not suggesting that the Pack plans to deal or dump Lord Favre, but how can the team not at least toy with the idea of clearing that much space by nudging a guy who has been holding the franchise hostage with his annual "Should I Stay or Should I Go" routine?

 

 

 

By continuing to hang around year after year, Favre is preventing (in our view) the Packers from forming the nucleus of its next generation team. So even though some of the cheese puffs might huff if the team makes the first move in moving on, it’s high time to tear off the Band-Aid and get ready for the future.

 

The problem with this argument—even though I agree the team’s "approach" to "rebuilding" with "Favre" has amounted to a house of cards—is this: Even if you have $7.2m extra in cap room, who’s going to come to Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers as quarterback?

 

 

Farve for a a trio of 3rd round picks and a player to be named later...

 

Honestly what can you ask for a QB who already says he doesn't want to learn a new offence and is leading the NFL in picks?

They are not going to trade Favre, much less for 3rd rounders. Even if he leads in picks, he is about 8,000 yards and 25 TDs away from breaking Marino's records. He is worth keeping to the end.

It looks like Favre needs at least 3 more season before he breaks Marino's records (which is being somewhat generous).

There's a possibility he could come close to Elway's record for wins as well.

 

And he's the closest any QB has ever come to breaking Unitas' TD streak, until the Philly game last year. Which is pretty insane.

He pretty much pushed the ball out of his hands as he was going down, so it was clear he was deliberately trying to avoid the safety, which is illegal.

 

Did you watch NFL Total Access last night? They explained this in the Official Review segment. Apparently the call on the field was the right one. The rule as written only applies to if the passer is up the field. Because he was in the End Zone, there is no illegal forward pass penalty. Gado was basically taking advantage of a loophole in the rule.
