Also, why the hell are they sucking off SC so hard right now, don't they realize there is a Texas team who is unbeaten and has been kicking the shit out of teams just as much.

A Texas team that also plays in a tougher conference and had a tougher non-conference schedule? Seriously, when was the last time USC played a team anywhere near the caliber of Ohio State in non-conference play?

Come on. At least try to be a little bit objective.

If you want to say that the Big XII is as tough as the Pac-Ten, you could almost have an argument, but there's no way they were better this year. Their second best team was Texas Tech who beat absolutely no one and doesn't even deserve to be in the Top 15. Meanwhile, Oregon had a good win over Fresno State (before they tanked), and didn't lose to anyone all year except for SC.

The third best team in the Big XII, OU played the third best Pac-Ten team, UCLA, and lost 41-24 giving UCLA their second most lopsided win of the year against a BCS opponent. So who else is so "tough" in the Big XII? Colorado? Iowa State? I really don't see how they're any better than Arizona State or Cal, especially considering how well ASU was playing when they played the Trojans, coming off a close loss to LSU and a blowout win over Northwestern.

The second italicized quote is even worse. "When was the last time USC played a team anywhere near the caliber of Ohio State in non-conference play?" I mean, are you serious here? The Notre Dame game wasn't that long ago, was it? The road win at Notre Dame was the second most impressive win by any team all season long. I really don't see how the #5 team in the country could be classified as "not anywhere near the caliber" of the #4 team.

If I totally discount the Notre Dame game, I'll just cite the Va. Tech game last season as them playing a non-conference game with a team the caliber of Ohio State. I won't count the road part, Texas had the same disadvantage.

Anyone remember when USC went to #6 Auburn in 03'? Playing Notre Dame all the time? In 02' they played non conference games against Colorado and K State (when they were really good) on the road after opening against Auburn.

In the last few years Texas has played Ohio State, LA Laffayette, Rice(twice), North Texas, Arkansas(twice), New Mexico State, Tulane(2), North Carolina, and Houston. Aside from OSU thats just weak as hell.

I didn't put that one down because Auburn was overrated, but that was a shitkicking.

OMG DOUBLE'D!

That never happens to me.

Shootout in the Hawaii Bowl, with Nevada up on UCF 28-26 midway through the 3rd.

I really dig Nevada's offense too. I've been really impressed with the running game they pull out of it. This one has slowed down a lot--700 yards of offense in the first half, and not much more in the third quarter.

Wow it'd suck to be that guy. Good game though, and it was nice to finally not see Hawaii in the Hawaii bowl.

You could see in tonight's game the speed of some of UCF's players. They were blowing by Nevada's guys on their routes, and the hard hits from the safeties were really all that kept UCF from passing up and down the field. Obviously their talent level doesn't approach any of the big three Florida schools, but even getting the state of Florida's leftover recruits, UCF becomes a fast and pretty dangerous team.

Good win for Nevada, and a really great season for both teams.
