Vern Gagne Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 You've been in the playoffs for three years, I thought you knew that by now. You PM'd me your wild card picks. Oh, yeah, and I also said in my first post: PM picks and your guess as to the final score of each game to me (Example: Washington 21, Tampa 30). Scoring details will be covered in the next post of this thread. You should know I don't read any of that stuff.
CanadianChris Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Man, don't keep us in suspense...let everyone know that I was the only one who picked Denver this week. Playoff Manifesto Rule #2: When in doubt, seek out the popular opinion and go the other way.
therealworldschampion Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Washington 10@ Seattle 40 (9.5) New England 24@ Denver 28 (3.5) Pittsburgh 14@ Indy 38 (9.5) Carolina 17@ Chicago (2.5) 9
Fökai Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 kkk should be tired of my always-late ass by now. Do you see why I whigged out of running the first Pick'em League? I can't keep up with anything... Washington @ Seattle (9.5) Seattle 27, Washington 21 New England @ Denver (3.5) New England 21, Denver 17 Pittsburgh @ Indy (9.5) Indy 28, Pittsburgh 10 Carolina @ Chicago (2.5) Carolina 17, Chicago 10
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 Deadline has come and gone. let everyone know that I was the only one who picked Denver this week. You weren't the only one. And Dr. Tom, I hope you now see why I'm not doing this league over at the other place next season.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 You mean you're actually going to submit picks this week? Guess not.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 16, 2006 Author Report Posted January 16, 2006 Results: TSM Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) d Denver (Canadian Chris) 2-1 Cleveland (SFA Jack) d by New England (nl-asshole) 1-2 NY Giants (Cartman) d by Atlanta (King of the 909) 0-2 Detroit (Bravesfan) d by Philadelphia (Real World's Champion) 1-3 The Other Place Cleveland (SFA Jack) d by New England (nl-asshole) 1-2 Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) d Cincinnati (Slapnuts) 3-3+TB Atlanta (Steve Joseph) d by New Orleans (Bob Barron) 3-3 Arizona (Vern Gagne) d Minnesota (Kahran Ramsus) 1-1+TB Check out the Tie-Breakers, this sucks for Kahran: SCORES AZ: WAS 13, SEA 20/ NE 26, DEN 24/ PIT 17, IND 28/ CAR 14, CHI 10 MIN: WAS 10, SEA 38/ NE 24, DEN 21/ PIT 20, IND 42/ CAR 6, CHI 17 FINAL: WAS 10, SEA 20/ NE 13, DEN 27/ PIT 21, IND 18/ CAR 29, CHI 21 WAS/SEA scored at total of 30 points. Vern had 33, Kahran had 48. Vern wins the first game. NE/DEN scored a total of 40 points. Vern had 50 points, Kahran had 45. Kahran wins the second game. PIT/IND socred a total of 39 points. Vern had 45 points, Kahran had 62. Vern wins the third game. CAR/CHI scored a total of 50 points. Vern had 24 points, Kahran had 23. Vern wins the fourth game. Vern wins in the first TB 3-1. Now, if Kahran would have won an additional game in the first-level tiebreakers to tie this round at 2-2, we would have went to total score of the four games, of which he would have won that round. So, Kahran lost by 2 TB points in the CAR/CHI game.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 16, 2006 Author Report Posted January 16, 2006 Next Week's matchups. I sense deja vu in the AFC: TSM Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) Philadelphia (Real World's Champion) @ Atlanta (King of the 909) The Other Place Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) Arizona (Vern Gagne) @ New Orleans (Bob Barron)
CanadianChris Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 I'd say I'm disappointed, but I'm still deleriously happy from Denver being only a home win away from the Super Bowl. :headbang:
nl5xsk1 Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 TSM Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) The Other Place Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) What're the odds of that? It's not like we were even the same seeds on both boards.
sfaJack Posted January 16, 2006 Report Posted January 16, 2006 I think the Divisional round is my Manning-esque glass ceiling--two straight years I've gone out in it. Damn you niskie for actually submitting your picks.
therealworldschampion Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I'm in the conference championship, hopefully I won't need to go to it 4 times to win it once like my team did.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 Since nl-asshole already PM'd his picks to me: Pittsburgh @ Denver (3.5) Carolina @ Seattle (4.5) TSM Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) Philadelphia (Real World's Champion) @ Atlanta (King of the 909) The Other Place Jacksonville (Always Pissed Off) @ New England (nl-asshole) Arizona (Vern Gagne) @ New Orleans (Bob Barron)
Stephen Joseph Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 kkk howd the hell did i lose since i tied barron 3-3?
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 18, 2006 Author Report Posted January 18, 2006 Since you two were tied, we went to the first round of tie-breakers, which is to see who more accurately guessed the scores of the games. Since you didn't predict any scores and Bob did, you lost.
bob_barron Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 I thought SJ didn't submit any picks
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 18, 2006 Author Report Posted January 18, 2006 He didn't. They were his Emergency Picks. They just matched yours. Most EPs seem to do that in the playoffs.
Stephen Joseph Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 I did submit picks. Argh! You're telling me that it didnt go through!!! Shit.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 19, 2006 Author Report Posted January 19, 2006 Nope. That's why I put people who submit in bold-face. That's also why I try to respond to every PM'd set of picks when I receive them. And if you did submit picks, I'm assuming they the same ones that were posted in your matchup. I'm no economist, but what are the odds of that happening?

Guest Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 It's safe to say that I'll be representing the AFC in the KKK Bowl.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 No, that would be quite unsafe to say. Now representing the NFC on the other hand. Oh, and goddamnit APO, why did you have to choke now? Unless there's a major meltdown, it looks like kkk Bowl III will be: TSM New England (nl-asshole) vs. Atlanta (King of the 909) The Other Place New England (nl-asshole) vs. New Orleans (Bob Barron) All I can say is: Go NFC South
therealworldschampion Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Goddamn it I have no James Thrash or Todd Pinkston to blame for this loss...
Guest Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 No, that would be quite unsafe to say. Now representing the NFC on the other hand. Oh fuck, I just noticed that. I'm a retard.
bob_barron Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 I have to play that asshole?? Well at least I know kkk is going to rig it for me!
nl5xsk1 Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Wow, even Bob is calling me an asshole now. Of course, it's not like Bob's in the running for any "most popular poster" awards, so maybe him calling me names will make me more likable amonst the TSM masses. And if kkk was going to be fixing the results, wouldn't I have been eliminated long before the Super Bowl?
kkktookmybabyaway Posted January 23, 2006 Author Report Posted January 23, 2006 Like the Steelers in the NFL, you're going up against all the odds. And believe me, the odds will be stacked against you.
