nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 I started with Reds because I was a skinhead and that's what all the other male skinheads smoked. The byrds (skinchicks) all smoked Camels. In retrospect I wish I'd started with something a bit milder, because I had grown so accustomed to the harsh burn of the Red that when I'd bum a non-Red off people, it didn't really feel like smoking. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Somebody might have said this, but I don't want to read all the postings. It isn't an original thought. A lot of anti smoking commercials are funded by tobacco companies by mandate of the government. So they may be that obnoxious intentionally.
RepoMan 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2006 God, who starts off smoking Marlboro Reds? Pretty much everyone I know started with Reds and then moved on the finding their own brand.

I can handle them, but Iwouldn't choose to smoke them. I'm not really a heavy smoker, though. Why is it that everyone (well, white people) claims that Newports are too harsh, when Reds are more harsh?
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2006 Really? I find Newports a little weak. I smoke Camel regulars, but I used to smoke Reds. For the record.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2006 I smoked a pack of Lucky Strikes over a period of several weeks once, as a supplementary or emergency pack. They were all right, but I wouldn't get them again for a long time. I smoke the emo/hipster/scenewhore-approved Parliament Lights.
