Mik 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 The whole Peter plot was pretty bad...culminating in my least favorite family guy routine ever...the 300 minute long Shipoopy touchdown dance. But the Stewie as the bookie, Brian as the money ower subplot was pretty funny. "But anyways, don't forget that money by tomorrow. Ah, nevermind, you won't forget." "Oh, this is really some tasty lemonaide, Brian." SMASH. The whole beatdown scene was great, "You're not gonna make a fool out of me. You're making a fool out of me." - but the second one was better. King of the Hill had a particularly awful episode which is unusual since they've been consistantly good these past few seasons. The Simpsons was the usual piece of shit these last few seasons have been. As you said about Family Guy, the sub-plot was great, but the rest of the episode was terrible. Family Guy was only redeemed by the Stewie/Brian sub-plot, and Quagmire's reasoning for going through their garbage (Lois' toenails). spman, did you really just say that King of the Hill has been consistently good for a few seasons? Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2006 The Simpsons had quite a few funny jokes tonight. Like Family Guy, though, the plot was so unfocused that each act had its own storyline. That's usual stuff for The Simpsons these days, but not for FG. Simpsons highlights: High-fiving the black kid, Nelson saw something funny, serious, fun, and intellectual Homer, Mice In Cars: How Big A Threat?, and the end bit with Lisa and Maggie. Family Guy highlight: Jay Leno, Internet Porn Night, Diane crying, Gwyenth Paltrow and Harriet Tubman, and uhhh, nothing much else. I actually didn't find the Stewie/Brian stuff all that funny. If you like it, then it's hilarious, if you don't like it, then no amount of convincing will ever possibly make you think otherwise. It just struck me as strange, even the people that I know that like the show keep saying it's pretty 'meh' lately. Like you said, though, it's a polarizing show: some people love it, some don't. I guess it's funnier if you see a lot of that stuff happening in your daily life. I missed everything due to the PPV last night. What about American Dad? Was it good? He's best to just be "there" to contribute a few funny one liners during each show. When he's made central to the plot (last night) the thinness of the character shows. One of my favorite odd moments of the show has been Klaus replacing Stan as Steve's parental figure. "Here's your allowance Steve." (blows bubbles four times) "1 - 2 - 3 - 4. Okay... Downhome 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2006 I liked the Shipoopi segment, but I can see why so many people would hate it. It was just so unexpected and out there. To celebrate his touchdown, he breaks into the entire musical number from The Music Man only with a football setting, including just about all of the actual choreography. Then the line at the end killed me - "Allllllriiiiiiight, I made a touchdown." Then the fact that Peter sorta looks like Buddy Hackett made it that much better.
