Guest Report post Posted February 13, 2006 That was the best game I've ever been to. I was going to leave when it was 5-2 Dallas, but I'm real glad I didn't. That was a playoff atmosphere at Staples this afternoon that just intensified when Brown somewhat checked Turco. That guy will take over right where Deadmarsh left off. But he's been dominating the Swedish leagues for years, and I don't see any reason he won't be just as good next year. Not for nothing, but Thomas was the MVP in the Finnish league that he played in before signing with the B's organization. I'm not saying that he's a lifelong superstar or that this recent hot streak will last the rest of the season, let alone beyond this year ... And the people that think that Bertuzzi was wrong for doing what he did. If it turns out that Moore can't play anymore, than he SHOULD sue. He'll be losing the opportunity to earn a living as a result of an action that the league deemed to be outside of normal NHL play. It's not right that he'd be losing the opportunity to make money as a result of what Bertuzzi did. But having said that, the amount of money that he should be awarded should be within reason. First of all, if he is asking for $19, it seems safe to assume they are likely looking at more towards $10-12 as a final number. He made $323K in the last year he played. If he can argue that Bertuzzi took an 8-10 year career from him, with standard raises that would probably end up around $4-5 million. Put that together with losing a professional hockey career (not salary, but losing the ability to play hockey) and the catch all "pain and suffering", then all of a sudden a nice chunk of change can rack up in a hurry. Had played for most of three seasons prior to the incident with Bertuzzi and was only in his mid-twenties when his neck was broken. If it was, and no offense meant to anyone, some hick fresh off a farm that had two choices in life: hockey and farming, then I could see an argument that Bertuzzi took away the one chance that Moore had of living the good life. But a kid with a Harvard education, a) likely has money to begin with ... and b) has a good education to fall back on. I say that he'd have stayed in the league for a while but in a PJ Axelsson type of role (3rd liner, defensive specialist, not expected to light the lamp 25/30 times a season). I say he'll miss up until mid-march. Sounds about right. They're not going to take any chances, especially with such a soft schedule coming out of the break. The best teams they'll see in the first three weeks are Tampa Bay (twice) and New Jersey. I figure he'll be back for the game against New Jersey on the 19th, so he can work back into playing shape for the big game against the Sabres on the 24th. With his money freed up, expect a Clarke move pretty quick. He tends to make his moves before the deadline approaches. Releasing the garbage that is Petr Nedved would free up even more money. How is Arnason for Antropov(which I don't see happening) effect Montreal? Arnason is quietly good, but not at his full potential, so both of those disqualify him in Hogtown, whose brass seem to love Antropov for some reaosn.
