Guest claydude14 Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 ugh. linda just won the womnes title of tough enough II
Guest Flyboy Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I don't watch the show, but all I know is Jackie is sure hot. Not even watching the finals... I figure Jake will win the men's.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I swear that just like last year they are afraid to pick the prettier girl because they'll get criticised. they both worked hard and were fine...but Linda has an attitude problem and Jackie fights through pain without bitching...and bitching is something Linda does alot without the pain. Last year Taylor totaly owned Nidia...I'm sorry but she did. I assume Jake is winning the next one. Based solely on his look. But you never know.
Guest the pinjockey Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I can't believe they didn't let Stacy know that they weren't going to pick one guy and one girl. They made her look like a fucking putz questioning what was in the envelope.
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Why choose 2 women if you aren't gonna use them? They easily could've put Jake and Kenny to better use.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Seeing as Nidia hasn't even made it out of OVW yet...and the WWE refuses to have more than one storyline in the womens division (champ vs. challenger)...I'll just file this under stupid investments. Oh and Jake will get a developmental contract sooner or later...Chris Harvard style. I guess at least there won't be another Maven running around.
Guest treble charged Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 ::Waits until Monday to see what actually happened::
Guest Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 WTF!? Two women won!? Thats bull. No offense as they are both great but I thought it was one guy and one girl that get the prize. I guess the WWE doesnt need any more guy talent and they are trying to build their women's divison but still. The guys were just as surprised abut it. The WWE screwed this up
Guest Flyboy Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I picked two women this time... This puts bps theory sort of use... "We can't get the pretty girl because we'll get criticised... so let's pick BOTH the girls. We won't get criticised, and we can get the pretty girl!" I bet the men are pissed...
Guest Dangerous A Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 "I swear that just like last year they are afraid to pick the prettier girl because they'll get criticised. they both worked hard and were fine...but Linda has an attitude problem and Jackie fights through pain without bitching...and bitching is something Linda does alot without the pain. As far as looks, I'll take Nidia. I think she blows Taylor away in the looks department, IMO. (that IMO is the important part of the statement.
Guest Flyboy Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I guess the WWE doesnt need any more guy talent and they are trying to build their women's divison I think that's the point exactly.
Guest treble charged Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Now I think I understand what happened. Man, that's a shot to the ego for the guys.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 i can see jackie being used for photo shoots etc, and can be turned into a good worker and all, but linda .......... ugh
Guest Ripper Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I wouldn't exactly call either of the girls lookers...Jackie certainly has a nicer body and the WWE could save on the boob job since she already has one, but she isn;t exactly cute. Kenny got Robbed. He was the best thing on the show...period. He had more talent, he was the best talker, he was better in the ring...he was the most talented all around guy. When they were talking about Jake(the trainers) all they could really talk about is his look. Kenny actually had talent. He was definately deserved it more than everyone on the show. I think the fact that Kenny's drunken near fight and party attitude along with Jakes lack of talent did them in though.
Guest Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 All I can say is wow... was definitley not expecting that. I felt so bad for Kenny. Jake was like, what? And Jackie was crying when Linda won because she thought that there would only be one girl... [farooq]Damn[/farooq]
Guest art_vandelay Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I know I'm in the minority but, I actually like the decision. Watching the show, I wasn't too impressed by either men but was fairly impressed by the women, mainly Jackie. Jake was too poor on the mic and in the ring, while Kenny seemed way too immature and not so good in the ring or on the mic himself. The two girls however, were both quite developed in the ring, at least for women, and their looks are quite marketable. Besides, the WWF is in need of more female athletes, they don't need another Maven. And you all say WWE programming is too predictable...
Guest Ripper Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I have to say that if it is a body shot, Jackie would win...but if its a head shot, the edge goes to Linda. She has a much prettier face than Jackie. She has the nice smile and all. Jackie isn't much to look at in the face.
Guest razazteca Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Can't wait for the Jackie vs Ivory match on Raw [/sarcasm] so which one of the winners will be Mr McMahon's fluff girl? Nidia has what maybe 4 tv apperances before disappering to OVA/HWA
Guest EI Cubano Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 This was just a STUPID decision by WWE. Jake was a CAN'T miss prospect with everything needed to be successful in the business. The same could be said about Kenny to a lesser extent but for christ sake I would have settled for either of them. This was just a huge let down for a show I spent the last 3 months watching (ok, I lied, I caught most of the marathon). The reason they start with 8 guys and 5 girls is because honestly nobody cares about the women.
Guest notJames Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 i remember at the beginning of the series, they said they weren't just limiting the winners to 1 guy and 1 girl. I figured it was because they didn't think they could find one good female worker. Boy, did they pull a fast one. As soon as they announced Linda as the winner, I knew they were picking Jackie as well. There was no way they were letting a "fairy tale" success story like that go away. Not to mention she's attractive and can be built into a solid worker. Besides, like it was said before, they have enough guys to push into the next century. They need to fill their estrogen quota before the full recession hits. Gotta stock up on heaving bosoms before the next wrestling boom, eh? I'm sure Jake will get in one way or another. There's no way they'd pass up on his look and physique, so they'll probably ship him to HWA pronto without telling anyone. They probably want him to work on his characterization/promos a little more. His voice is still a litle wimpy, but the promo he cut on Hardcore Holly showed a lot of improvement. And can you believe Kenny was gonna pull the politics card? Sheesh, what a sore loser. He could probably spit up a glass full of sour grapes right about now. And was that really Taylor looking all diesel and buffed up? I couldn't tell when the TE One competitors all stood up if that was her or not. If it was... DAMN!!!
Guest treble charged Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Can't wait for the Jackie vs Ivory match on Raw [/sarcasm] Personally, I can't wait for the Jackie vs. Jackie match.
Guest bcu1979 Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Can't wait for the Jackie vs Ivory match on Raw [/sarcasm] so which one of the winners will be Mr McMahon's fluff girl? Nidia has what maybe 4 tv apperances before disappering to OVA/HWA What do you mean which? He's Vince McMahon. It's only a matter of time before every woman on the roster ends up as part of his harem on Smackdown. I didn't believe Kenny had a chance at winning so I had no problem with the decision. Another Trish Stratus is preferable to another Bradshaw or another Test. Besides, they signed JR's favorite new HOSS Matt to a developmental contract a few months back so they got their big man already. They mentioned Chris Harvard but didn't mention Josh at all so I wonder if that means they decided not to offer him a developmental contract. I can't believe this is possible but Nidia actually looked worse with her dye job.
Guest EMAXSAUN Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 well, it really was unexpected two have two women champions, and i was pissed when i saw linda up there and not jackie, but if they were gonna just give her a trophy too, why didnt they just give contracts to everyone? i bet that kenny and jake already have developmental deals, hell, matt from TE2 already does. right after he left the show because of his injury he got a contract. and what is the point of having all the people who didnt make it from both seasons there? watching darryl in the background acting like an idiot isnt going to help him become a wrestler, and pete is such a little shit, trying to mug for the camera all the time, there is no way he will make it after seducing a druken jackie like he did
Guest notJames Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I think Kenny pretty much sealed his fate with his "I'm not gonna go there..." allusion to why he thought he lost. He couldn't handle not winning, and he didn't say he'd try to get into the business anyway. That says to me he doesn't have the right attitude, and didn't want it bad enough. Plus, I didn't think he was all that great. Yeah, he could do all the moves and such, but he just didn't look like a wrestler. The WWF... hell, the entire wrestling industry is all about selling illusion. The illusion that people hate each other, that they're really hurting each other, and most importantly, that these wrestlers are larger than life. Kenny looked like an average guy who could wrestle. Big deal The WWF along with all the indies are chock full of guys like that. They need that certain look to draw the fans in and make them want to watch. Sure, I can't explain a lot of the guys they have now, but the ones who are at the top level have that mystique about them that sets them apart from all the ham-and-eggers clogging the entrance ramp. Jake definitely has it, plus he has the right attitude, and will go far. Kenny will go home and sulk, cursing Vince McMahon and Co. for all the political bs, vowing never to wrestle again. Of course, I could be wrong...
Guest HBK16 Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 Picking two women is retarded. Nidia has had like 5 appearances on WWE TV. The same thing is going to happen to those two. I was looking forward to Jack. He and the Prototype could have teamed up or atleast had a feud. It would have ben awesome.
Guest papacita Posted May 31, 2002 Report Posted May 31, 2002 I think Kenny pretty much sealed his fate with his "I'm not gonna go there..." allusion to why he thought he lost. Um...I think you're being a little too hard on the guy. One, it's not like Jake was Mr. Happy when they interviewed him either ("I was under the impression that there was supposed to be one male and one female..."). Both guys seemed legitimately pissed about the decision. And say what you will about his attitude, but it was certainly better than Linda's. As for the decision itself...I dunno, I don't think it's fair for the guys to getting jerked around like that, but I can damn sure see the logic behind it. A lot of people didn't think TE2 was a good idea because the (male) roster was big enough, so why not just bring in two women (which is actually in need of wrestlers). But Jackie's gonna be out for a while cuz of the injury (probably until TE2 is well out of everybody's mind), and Linda will probably get NO TV time. The decision's long-term success depends on how serious the WWE is about building up the Women's division. I do have to admit, I felt real good for Jackie when Stacy announced her name tonight.
