For the Orioles, Nick Markakis is going to get held back because they have (worthless) depth at OF, specifically LF (Matos and Conine). Id rather see Markakis start in LF on opening day than either one of them. Conine probably should never even been signed and Matos should have been relegated to a bench spot when they signed Patterson.

Theres also a huge debate over Adam Loewen vs Hayden Penn. Penn got called up last year to fill in because of injuries, he had a couple good games, got shelled around a lot, sent down, called back up and finished out the season on a high note. Im not sure I get how Loewen, is rated above him though (45 vs 81). The good news is that right now the Orioles' rotation is as strong as its been in a long time and baring injuries or a trade, I dont see how either of them factor into the Orioles Starting Rotation plans for the next 2 years at least, so there wont be a need to rush either of them. My guess is that eventually one of them will replace Rodrigo Lopez though if I HAD to guess, and I bet it will be Loewen. Benson just got a big contract, and Cabrera (25)/Bedard(27)/Chen(29) are all still under 30 and Chen had a career year last year, with Cabrera improving a ton over his rookie year and Bedard was on pace to have a breakout year before getting injured.

I don't think it's fair to put Cameron Maybin 31st when he hasn't even played minor league ball yet.

Five for the Twins. Not bad. Perkins is probably two years away from being a full-time major leaguer.

Maybin has played as many innings as the #2 overall prospect - Justin Upton.

Jim Callis also called J. Upton the next Ken Griffey Jr. in a chat today. Big shoes to fill. At least he plays good D, unlike his brother.

I can't see placing Loewen above Penn myself. Loewen's 21, and he struggled at single A Frederick, showing great stuff but iffy control. Penn's younger, and he posted tremendous peripherals at AA Bowie.
