Luger I don't really care about but I would definitely tune in to see what Goldberg and/or Steiner were up too. Anything is better than Jeff Jarrett watching video tapes in the back with a bunch of jobbers and women with terrible faces.
Stephen Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Goldberg would be a good short term investment, much like Sting. IMO TNA does not have enough Star power. If they want to grow and be a credible no 2, this is the type of investment you make. Sting did bring tna to a 1.0 rating, just imagine what goldberg could do. Now i am not saying they are going to all of a sudden go to 2.0, but i could see the addition of goldberg and sting on your tv every week giving them a rating between 1.0 - 1.3. Monty Brown vs Goldberg & Abyss vs Goldberg are your obvious choice for you fueds if he is brought in. As it pertains to luger, no thank you. He has nothing left, and is useless. There is no need for a Luger vs Sting match, as it brings nothing to the table.
Guest Coffey Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Loss the other day at NMB mentioned that Luger is still one of the names that people always bring up when asking "where are they now." People recognize Luger still. It might be because the characters were better well established in the past or whatever but when people think of Beefcake, they think of him cutting hair, and they remember that for years to come. People still think of Luger torture racking people and TNA doesn't have a lot of people with that remembering appeal.
razazteca Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Has Luger done anything worth a damn since 1994? I really don't want to see Luger putting Hoyt or David Young in the 'rack anytime soon. I would rather see Hall return than Luger get any tv time.

I'm just saying, Luger had that "lasting quality" which it don't look like a lot of people on the TNA roster, like Elix Skipper, Chris Sabin and even Daniels seem to have. Has Luger done anything worth a damn since 1994?

I guess the WCW fans that stopped watching could be. I want no part of him, but I suppose I could deal with him being Jarret's bodyguard or something that doesn't involve him wrestling alot.

I think he's just pointing out that Luger's part in the Wolfpack was minimal at best. The big players when it came to the nWo becoming as big as it did were Nash, Hall, Hogan and, to a slightly lesser extent, Sting. Luger's part in all of that was secondary at best. His only major part came in the unmasking of Rey Mysterio angle, and that happened long after the Wolfpack had peaked. Other than that, Luger was primarily window dressing, while Nash and co were the ones given the main angles.

Before getting injured (I think) Luger spent most of his time squashing guys like Sick Boy and wrestling in PPV matches with nWo Black guys that meant nothing.

Jericholic82 Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Luger cant be the mystery man, Jarett said it was someone who had never been in TNA before. Luger made some TNA apperances back in the weekly ppv , maybe then it is Steiner?

That would be my guess, since it's someone from Sting's past (Sting had a good enough association w/ the Steiners back in WCW days) and its someone who hasnt been in TNA before. I would then imagine Goldberg will be the big name to be brought in for the first Thursday show instead of Steiner.
