Some brief notes on the Warrior Warrior's lecture yesterday at DePaul University about Diversity (100 people, sell out) from Jack Edinger.

 

Gay and lesbian couples (which he referred to as queers and refused to change his verbiage during the lecture) have the same disease as pedophile priests in the Catholic Church...keep in mind this was at DePaul University…one of the largest catholic universities in America.

 

Israeli's are "sub-human" because they fight with rocks.

 

When asked how he would feel if his daughter grew up to be a homosexual he replied she won't, shes completely feminine in every sense of the word. Keep in mind she's about 5 years old.

 

When a fan complimented him on slamming Andre the Giant warrior responded "go masturbate at home".

 

Jack asked how he can go to colleges and promote intelligent debate on issues how could he defend throwing the podium at his speech at Uconn, and he responded "what are you talking to me?" and the stooge DePaul conservative said "he didnt throw a podium...next question".

 

Anytime a hard question was asked he would reply "your question doesn't make any sense".

I think even Fred Phelps would look at Warrior and say, "Man, that guy's way out there."

 

I also love how he was advertised as speaking on diversity.

so this was yesterday. i went.

 

highlights(and lowlights depending on how you see it), lets just say

 

things that happened:

 

-got put in the front row with all the blazer wearing conservatives.

-had to open another room to fit all the other people

-packed

-poster of ronald reagan up front

-ultimate warrior's top wrestling moments video introduction

-made it through his speech without any outbursts

-said "queering doesn't make the world work" at depaul

-someone called him a ****ing bigot and got escorted out by security

-some kid in a full spiderman outfit getting escorted out

 

now the speech was an hour long(5pm-6pm) and the q and a was from 6pm-8pm. there was so much insanity and crying and walking out that i didn't know what to pay attention to:

 

the first question was a kid who started by saying he was very impressed by the warrior body slamming andre the giant in which the warrior retorted "go mastrabate at home". the vp of student affairs told him to not resort to personal attacks and warrior then said "well that guy was making fun of me for saying he was impressed by me body slamming andre the giant". THEN the kid yells in a super high pitched, distraught voice "I WAS IMPRESSED."

 

lots of people complaining about his use of the word queer. at one point he said "i have a lot of queer friends" and someone from the back yelled "no you don't". then he called africa a continent of incest and aids. called its inhabitants beasts.

 

someone also asked "what if your daughter became a lesbian?" He said it wouldn't happen and that he's "seen his daughter in all her glory and she's the most feminine thing he's ever seen". then everyone in the crowd got really awkward and disgusted and just moved on.

 

i'm not sure what caused the walk out exactly, could have been the direct comparison between queers and pedophilia in the catholic church, but there was so much going on i couldn't follow.

 

it ended up being a 3 hour ultimate warrior promo with hints of racism, sexism and insanity. aka crazy awesome. i got his autograph on the flyer for the event. there was only like 30 people left after the walk out so the line was quick. there were a group of people there who sat through the 3 hours of insanity just to get an autograph on these things:

an ORIGINAL ultimate warrior jacket that he actually wore at a ppv. i **** you not, this guy came in wearing it and it was AMAZING. got it signed.

it was a great night.

EDIT: And every time some right-wingers freak out about an archliberal speaking somewhere, just remind them that colleges book Warrior Warrior also.

I'd love to see him come to UW-Whitewater (my alma matter). After the hub-bub that happened when Ward Churchill came here, I'd love to see what the reaction to Warrior would be.
