Red Baron Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 I always liked Hughston when he was paired up with Miller??? on NHL 98/99.
Guest Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 It was some other guy who I don't know of. If my PS2 would load NHL 98, I'd know, but it won't load for some reason. 99 was some guy named Darryl Reaugh.
CanadianChris Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 And they're going seven in the East, just like nearly everyone predicted.
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 That wasn't interference. Briere gets a weird winner. Game four Thursday. Baron can attest for this, I've been saying since 2003 when he was traded from Phoenix, that Briere should captain Team Canada in 2010.
CanadianChris Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 OK, pick Game 7. I say Carolina wins 4-2.
CanadianGuitarist Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 And I have to give props to everyone in this series not named Nummenien, Drury, Recchi or Brind'Amour. By which I mean, of all the younger players in this series, no one has shown any awe and played one game at a time. Ward and Miller are underlined.
Red Baron Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Drury is still a youngster. Still have no idea why Colorado gave him up in the first place...then Calgary.
Guest Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Jay McKee hasn't and may not make the flight to NC to play in tomorrow's game. http://wgr550.com/ Our Sabres beat reporter found out that he was not with the team Wednesday night in Carolina. Sabres team spokesman Mike Gilbert said he is "sick, but it is possible that he can come join the team for game 7." He had better be pretty sick if he can't play in the biggest game of his life and near the biggest in team history.
CanadianGuitarist Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I'll second biggest in team history. This will get them a date with the Oilers. Not the Broad Street Bullies. I'd be so daring as to say the 99 Stars > 06 Oilers. I am, though, a Tony Hrkac mark.
Guest Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 But when they played the Stars, the Stars were so good that the Sabres supposedly had little chance. If they win tomorrow, it is their best chance to win it all.
Guest Princess Leena Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I'll say 3-1 Sabres, and hope that Miller plays an outstanding game, as I think it's the only chance they have now with their depleted defense. I don't know if the Stars were that good in '99, but the Sabres were hardly a great team. The only reason they were close to making the playoffs was another ridiculous season from Hasek, and the PP luckily got hot in the Eastern playoffs.
JustJoe2k5 Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 I find it hard to believe that the Hurricanes would play as bad as they did Tuesday two games in a row, it just doesn't happen. I think the home crowd will give them enough of a boost to send them to the Stanley Cup Finals.

JustJoe2k5 Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 He should take the time to pay that injury the proper amount of care it deserves. Staph infections should not be taken lightly.
the max Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Fast paced first period, Carolina got the goal on a lucky two deflection shot from the point. Both goalies look good so far.
Guest Princess Leena Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It's supposedly not a staph infection. Just a "virus" he got from the wound on his leg. Sabres need some lucky goals.
RepoMan Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Bill Clement pimping "Versus" makes me want to puke.
Guest Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I wanted to post earlier that even though I thought the Canes would win 2-1, a part of me thought that Buffalo would overcome and win. I forgot all about it. I know that none of you will believe me now.
the max Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 What a turn. Janek's goal was a result of a good screen. Hecht's goal was pure luck; Wesley played him well, but Ward was out of position. 2-1 Sabres. What a game.
Fartsauce Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Best series of the playoffs by far. I wouldn't be suprised if this went to ot.
Guest Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 That didn't look like it went in. Best game of the playoffs so far. Brind'Amour is fast becoming the best player in these playoffs, regardless of whether or not they win.
CanadianChris Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I hate the penalty for shooting the puck over the glass. It's decided way too many games this year.
Guest Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 I'm a fan of the shooting over glass penalty, but it has decided too many games. When players stop doing it, the penalty will be much rarer. This powerplay is Buffalo's season.
CanadianChris Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Carolina vs. Edmonton should be a good series.
Guest Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 It'll be interesting to see if Carolina's great forwards can get through on Edmonton's great defense.
CanadianChris Posted June 2, 2006 Report Posted June 2, 2006 Brind'Amour doesn't touch the Prince of Wales Trophy, either, so we can't decide the Finals based on that.
