Raw Main Event Scene

As we head into Backlash this sunday night, you can't help but notice that the main event scene in WWE is hotter than it has been in a long, long time. HHH, Cena and Edge has been doing some excellent mic work and their feud feels new, refreshing and 2006-suitable. I can't look forward to this match more than I already am. Keep the music coming, guys.

So, how is the Raw ME-scene in WWE going to play out these next few months? Let's start the speculation.

Backlash - There's only one way to go here. Anything other than Cena retaining would be a huge mistake. He is sooo over right now it's crazy. Keep HHH and Edge looking strong, and end this in a slightly controversial way by hinting a Cena heel-turn.

One Night Stand II - Just read the posts below. If these two great wrestling-minds says it, it's the way to go.

Cena vs RVD. Cena heel-turn. Period.

One other thing. Go even more forward with his "either you're with me or against me"-phrase. In that way, he doesn't have to be heelish to the bone, and fans who at this point cheers him, will continue to do so. Thus keeping alot of the merchandise-customers.

Vengeance - Now, Cena can start going up against the good guys. And on this night, who better to defend against than the hometown hero Ric Flair. Yes folks, we're in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Book this right, by making people really believe that Flair is going to end Cena's reign, and get one more World Title-run in his career, which of course he won't.

With Flair still being a pretty big draw, this works on many levels.

Summerslam - By this time, HHH's waist must be itching for that strap, and the odds of him making it to 11 here, if not sooner, are pretty strong. Again, mistake. And I understand that many of you might write me off as a Cena-mark but listen...

You have to understand that a phenomena like John Cena doesn't come along very often. A young, up and coming superstar that gets a reaction from EVERY single viewer out there; man, woman, child, mark, smark, whatever. Tell me, when was the last time you saw a Wrestlemania Main Event when the whole crowd was going nuts over ONE of the competitors, ONE! I just can't get over that.

So what I'm trying to say is, keep this Cena-ball rolling, it is a rare treat to get in your lap.

Cena is not over. Not even as a heel. This is X-Pac heat. If he turns full heel but keeps his old character, people will still not want to see him, and fans will be turned away. If you think a wrestler who gets a huge reaction from the crowd everytime should be champ, you just sacrificed him for Cena's heel turn in your scenario.

If it is X-Pac heat, why did house shows do good business when he was going against Edge? Why aren't buy-rates nosediving? Or ratings? Why isn't attendance being effected? Why isn't business taking a hit?

You don't need to turn him heel, though. That's conventional thinking. Try something different by foregoing the turn. "Think outside the box", as people like to say.

I just think he sucks.

People (unless ure a chick or under the age of 8) hate the man. And i agree with Human Highlight Reel, this isn't real heat, this is x-pac heat. Even if they turn him heel, it won't make a diffrence.

They should just give up hopes on him. He is never going to be the rock, he is never going to be austin, he is never going to be hogan. jesus, he's barley maven.

Edge, that's why. Edge gets real heat nowadays, and there's people who want to see him get the title back, even if it's just so they can boo him while he holds it.

Cena is getting a reaction. That's more than a lot of people can say. It's a BIG reaction too. One way or another. His merchandise sales are still great. Tickets aren't going down. Attendance isn't going down. One way or another, either to cheer him or boo him, people are paying for him. It's most definitely not "X-Pac heat."

X-Pac heat to me means someone isn't getting ANY sort of reaction no matter what they do. It's more of an image of all the fans in the arena simultaneously slapping their foreheads when this guy comes out.

Cena is getting Cena heat. It's something I've never really seen before. If there is someone who is close to X-Pac heat at this point I'd say it is Orton.
