An American Haunting - ...is a piece of shit

Recommended Posts

I went to watch this tonight and there were quite a lot of people in the theater, and holy lord was it a piece of crap. To sum up the entire flick, as soon as the movie was over and the credits started to roll, one of the guys in the audience simply shouted out "Well hell..."

Stay away from this one, for the sake of your sanity and your wallet. I am not exaggerating either when I say it's one of the worst flicks I've ever seen. The only "good" thing that I can say about it is that it is funny, in a bad way. It's funny in the same way that something like The Village and The Day After Tomorrow is funny. The crowd I watched it with was laughing all the way through it, and making sarcastic remarks every now and then.

The trailer made me believe it was going to be shit. The snippet of the carriage doing the flip made me believe there was going to be unintentional hilarity.

Glad to know my suspicions were correct on both counts.

I went to see that piece of shit SILENT HILL, I can go see Donald Sutherland hamming it up with Sissy for matinee price.

How was Silent Hill a piece of shit? It wasn't some amazing masterpiece of horror, but it wasn't BAD. Beats the fuck out of most horror movies released in the theater (especially those pieces of shit Hide & Seek and Darkness).

I thought Silent Hill was a great film (production wise) and was an enjoyable way to pass two hours. I will admit that there was no real "scares" in the movie and that at some points the movie was missing those "meaty scenes" that captivate the viewer into watching more, but other than that it was definatly passable.

My friend and I walked into An American Haunting at the party scene where some dude asks the daughter to ask (I believe about 10mins in). It started out good and has a good periodic feel, but I have to admit the film dies after a little bit. It's like "we're haunted... oh well" and they do nothing really about it. And the "twist" is a bit like "...well. Fuckit". I'm just glad I didn't pay to go see it.
