CanadianGuitarist 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Two customers yesterday in my ECW had two different definitions. They both said it was a kind of USB cable, which is what I thought. It's what a custromer said three weeks ago, which was the impression I was under: a standard USB with an end shaped kind of like a rounded off square to go to your camera/mp3 etc. Customer yesterday didn't seem to know what he wanted, and both my co-workers didn't quite decide on what it was either. Some kind of higher speed transfer ethernet was what they said, which didn't help. HELP!?
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted May 29, 2006 Firewire is a different transfer interface standard, like USB, but faster. It comes standard on all Apple computers, and is starting to take over USB in some aspects for PC, especially for digital photo and video cameras. The typical firewire plug looks like this: Which is the 6 pin connector. There's also a 4-pin: And a 12 pin: But more than likely your customers will be looking for the first one. Mik 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2006 The very first iPods ran on firewire. USB 2.0 stopped that, but yeah... That's all I got.
