I have a whole CD case that's a testament to the short attention span I had for music from 1996 to about 1999. The only reason that I haven't thrown them out is to serve as a reminder of what poor taste I had in my early twenties... Boys, this is what happens when you don't get laid until your twenties: don't let this happen to you!

Some of my most infamous mistakes include:

Chumbawamba - Tubthumping

Chuck D - Autobiography of Mistachuck (yeah, I was the one)

Spice Girls (that's right, I said Spice Girls) - Spiceworld

Soundgarden - Superunknown (This record didn't necessarily suck, but I listened to it all the way through once, and discovered that I only actually liked three songs on the CD.)

Soundtrack - Booty Call

Will Smith - Big Willie Style

No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom (see Superunknown)

K-Ci and JoJo - Love Always

I think I listened to half of Telephone Free Landslide Victory and got bored with it. I had high hopes coming in, and it just wasn't as tight as Key Lime Pie was.

But come on. Sucking on a ding-dong, couldn't hit it sideways, I get it already.

I'll admit, I laughed. And White Light / White Heat is my favorite VU album. Maybe getting back on coffee for the first time in months has affected my sense of humor this morning.

Pre-OBRS CVB is very, very spotty. They were little more than a mildly-engaging novelty act at that point (what with country hodown covers of Black Flag and the like).

I always thought that the self titled was a pretty solid album.

Pet Sounds was a response to Revolver. Sgt. Pepper itself was Paul McCartney's answer to PS.

Also, I'd like to second Tubthumping, and will admit to listen to track #2 every so often. Never made it

past track 4.

That Afghan Whigs album with the kid in overalls on the cover.

Soundgarden- Badmotorfinger

Adverts' Singles Collection
