KingPK 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 This is kind of what I was talking about last week when I said people probably should, if they see a show is stacked and their match could wait a week, hold it off for a show that's lighter on action like this one. It still was a pretty good show (I'm assuming KC will edit in the lumberjack match later which should help boost the action), but I'd still like to see a bit more consistency in the match:promo ratio. Tony149 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 It's a day late, but happy birthday to KC. Axel is back! About time. Big challenged issued. The S.I.T. have one of the best entrances in the OAOAST. The large red bold letters puts it over the top. The intro of Cardinal Fang was priceless. DDD is right up there with Mr. Warrior as a gulity pleasure. Fun match. And an upset too. Favorite part was when Fang walked over to DDD and kicked him in the nuts. Since I forgot to feedback the X-Title match last week, let me do it now. I thought it was really good. As for TJ's promo this week, I always like it when a wrestler issues an open challenge. Something about it that makes me mark out. It's interesting to see how the Hooligans are sorta becoming faces in their battle with The Wildcards. Another strong showing from this storyline. Faqu's promo reminded me about J.R. calling Umaga the "Samoan Tsunami" this week on Raw or last. Axel's return brought everybody back. I was feeling that Axel-Watts segment. That multi-man tag should be good. You knew a lot of the wrestlers involved in the battle royal had no legit shot at winning, but it was still a helluva effort from Alf. When it comes to gimmick matches he might be our best writer. Even though Alf had mentioned Reject getting a shot at the belt months ago in GCF (which almost all of you have access to, lol), I completely forgot so his winning the battle royal was a shock to me. The other thing that stood out to me was Otaku's performance. He benefited from the BR more than anyone else. Bruce Blank 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 You’re right not as stacked as last week’s show – but then again that was super stacked. A good show none the less with some angle advancements and some good storytelling. Axel is MAD~! Something about an owners/board of directors opposing views on fiscal earnings written off over 5 years or something. . . wait that was CNN. Still not sure why the owners wouldn’t take actions to get replace of the board of directors if they were this unhappy, they own the place after all. *ouch* too much corporate thinking makes my head hurt – so onto the promo instead!! Axel says pretty much the same thing “forget corporate thinking, let’s settle it in the ring!!” – a 5 on 5 elimination match and it’s not even Thanksgiving But will they take the challenge?? Stay tuned to find out – (cliffhanger warning) It’s probably my lack of knowledge about this backstory that makes it hard for me to get into it – and shades of Vince/Bischoff/GMs everywhere, but I have faith in the OAOAST actually making the angle work. - Fang / Dragon – I don’t comment on my own stuff much, just that I enjoy the totally different style behind the S.I.T. And thank you babel fish for translating “two beers and a plate of spaghetti” for me - TJ Burns is BACKSTAGE~! A surprising return last week, an out of the blue X-Title win and now an interview too? He’s not a joke, he’s serious – and to prove it he calls out anyone: That’s one way to either be taken serious or to be taken down by Gibraltar! I for one can’t wait to see which it’ll be. - Wildcardz bring the explanations!! For those of you that may not have noticed it GPX showed up at the SWF PPV “13th Hour” and got in the faces of Bruce & Bloodshed See: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=entry2236386 If you missed it. Also Blank & Bloodshed Vs GPX TOMORROW NIGHT on Aftershock! The angle crosses boundaries and goes “up above” (as in the forum up above) - FAQU (yeah well Faq u too ) speaks! The new champion has a few words for Zack and it seems that he doesn’t like that Zack brought the Wildcards into the federation Okay so the guy makes ONE little mistake and this Samoan holds it against him? Sjesh some friend (two faced, unlike the Wildcards who only have one face, it’s a nasty, “kick you in the teeth” kind of face but still we’re morally superior ) Good stuff – Zack has fucked up and the OAOAST guys aren’t going to just let it be bygones just cause he got beat up. Top notch. - Ol’ Bill is in the ring!! Which seems to be a rarity. . . what’s his role again? It’s ONZ!! And then to noone’s surprise Axel’s first two partners are his running buddies – countered by Watts’ putting on a Black T. . . no wait it’s the TEAM of Black T, my bad. It was inevitable that it’d be accepted and that Hoff & Drek Stone would be part of the whole thing – so it’s good to get that established right off the bat, now the intrigue/mystery of who the remaining team members can begin. Interesting – this could go in like 20 different directions which is good *thumbs up* - 20 Man battle royal time!! With 20 men it’s hard to profile all of them and some really don’t need to be profiled Although I think a LOT could have been done with the monster Gibraltar in the match and a bit of referencing to other angles, but it served the main purpose really well and that purpose is Alfdogg Vs Reject at the Great Angle Bash. - Good show, what was there was very solid and enjoyable – it could have used a match or two more. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 I'll level with everyone. Yesterday was my birthday and it was also England v. Trinidad and Tobago. So, yeah, you do the math. My promo is in the show. And, it deserves reading if only for the most innappropriate poetry in OAOAST history. The Lumberjack Match is...well, it's not finished, let's say that. Hopefully I can get it posted tonight. If not, it'll definately up before next week. EDIT: And, it's up. I. Am. A. Machine!
Tony149 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 KC, Leon's poem was tremendous. Just hilarious. Because of it we now have Co-Lines of the Night: "You show me the gold and I'll show you my pe..." Lumberjack Match: I can't believe Ned got the jobber intro. For a rushed match it was still quite good. All is right in the world now that Jade is back with D*LUX.
