Earth's temperature at 2,000 year high

Because global warming would be the only reason to introduce further controls on pollution. Fuck clean air, clean water, and health benefits.

Someone from Toronto is complaining about how hot it is. Look, I never complain about it being too cold here because I know others have it worse, but seriously. Come to the South right now.

Hey dude, it gets notoriously hot up here in the summer. Not just hot - humid. Right now - Toronto is 40C with the humidex. Charleston is 43C with the humidex. Not much of a difference.

• Increased national standards for elasticity in gentlemen's dress socks by almost 17%.

In 1998 a crossed leg, revealing a slouchy, wrinkled sock, falsely identified me as an untrustworthy loafer to other members of an important real estate consortium, costing me my seat on the board. After suing the sock company for damages, new industry standards were put in place, ensuring that the same fate won't happen to you. Check your ankles--snug and tight, aren't they? You're welcome!

He's right, actually. Though metric is superior for scientific matters, the English system is better for any sort of casual discussion.

To answer the guy's question of "how in the fuck do we know what temperature it was back then?"

There are tiny ocean critters that are ubiquitous the world over. They're very temperature specific to the point that when one measures the ratios of them at a given temperature compared to another one, you can extrapolate some shit and figure out if it was cold or not if there's more of one plankton than another in a 2000 year old ocean core sample.

I believe they can do it with ice as well.

I was roofing a house yesterday from 6:30 in the morning to 6:30 at night with various 30 minute breaks in between(I wasn't doing it by the hour I was doing it by the square so I was making all the money as opposed to working for someone else...me and my illegal mexican homey Mario did it and I split the money with him cause we are cool like that) It was like 91 and the humity was ungodly. I got so sick at one point I thought I was gonna puke, I laid on the concrete in the garage for about 20 minutes, drank some water...damn I wanted to just say fuck it and go home but I needed to get the job done so I could get my money. It was rough, I frame houses for a living and i've worked through the hot and the cold. The VERY cold. But yeah, yesterday was rough...
