Feedback for 8/17

Recommended Posts

Pretty good show this week.

In his first promo in the OAOAST, Landon Maddix earned the Line of the Night. All the good names were taken, damnit!

You can feel the intensity in Zack's words.

UVX's promo caught me by surprise. That was damn good.

If not for the battle royal, O'Hara-Bryant would've been MOTN. Fun as hell.

 Popick's promo.

Bruce vs. UVX is ON.

Talk about short and sweet. Pete meant business. Wonder what Miami Mayhem is all about.

Nice job by PK with the placement of "The Incident" and Black T promo. I don't know why I didn't think of that. At least I wrote something!

UVX looked good for a while, but Bruce still kicked his ass. Insult to injury at the end.

The start of the battle royal was kinda weird because the tag match had yet to be edited in at the time of feedback, though I assume PR's banged up from just having a match ealier on and not from an attack like Brannigan, who was a warrior. He may have been the first to go, but damn if he didn't put up a fight. Anyway, awesome match. The highlight had to be Mr. Warrior's arrival and elimination. Priceless. The last 6 wrestlers remaining were an interesting bunch. Only PK had legit main event experience. Everybody else is looking to move up the card. That said, the right guy won. PR has flirted with moving on up many times, maybe this is his time.

Match of the Night: LUDICROUS SPEED~! Lethal Rumble

Line of the Night: "We're not a 'Thread', we're 'Wrestling!" -- Landon Maddix, referring to the difference between the SWF and OAOAST.

-Good opening segment. I've never read an entire SWF show (sorry KC), but I've known who Landon Maddix for a while. So it's nice to have him in the OAOAST. And I am looking forward to Leon/Landon at AngleSlam, since it is something of a Dream Match. Landon's promo was pretty good, establishing his character and his motives in the OAOAST. Say, you weren't refering to PRL when talking about rip-offs, right? :D

-Great promo from Zack Malibu. He was INTENSE~!, and you could feel the hatred he feels for Bruce Blank. You can call the AngleSlam match, "Revenge Of Zack Malibu". Yeah, that'll work.

-Whoa. Ultimo Villano X wants Bruce Blank in a match? That's crazy. He'll get killed. Anyway, I liked the promo.

-Liked that Theodore Moneymaker vignette. I just wonder when he is going to start wrestling. Not that I'm getting tired of the vignettes, it's just that I'd like to see him in the ring sooner than later. Attacking the waiter was such an asshole thing to do, but not as assholish as commandering a public pool and leaving those poor regular people out in the sweltering sun. That's the mark of a true asshole. I already hate the guy and he hasn't even wrestled yet (But he will soon right?)!

-Jamie O' Hara vs. "Tremondous" Tyler Bryant was a great match. Awesome stuff as usual from King Cucarcha. I'm digging the storyline behind the feud as I can sorta see where GPX is coming from, but then again, I can't. Glad to see that The Hooligans aren't exactly faces either. That's good to know. I can't wait to read the eventual blowoff (AngleSlam right?).

-All right. Popick's back! Love the commercial. Nice of Popick to write himself as being able to knock out Samuel L Jackson with one punch. Who says this guy has an ego? (Just kidding, Popick. You know I've got your back.)

-Funny segment with Bruce Blank. I like how he was watching The Beverly Hillbillies instead of HeldDOWN~!. That part made me laugh the most.

-Props to Longdogger Pete for using "Baseline" as his entrance song. That's the song that turned me into a Quarashi fan. Nice promo from LDP. It was short and to the point. I'm curious as to what a Miami Mayhem Match is myself. I guess I'll have to read AngleSlam to find out.

-Cool segments, Tony. They just kept getting better and better, and flowed all together very well. "The Incident" was great. Cool to see Logan stick to his rock n' roll roots like that. Sooner Bruisers are becoming more and more evil by the day. Is it safe to say they're heels now? I think so. Good promo from Synth Esizer. And good promos from Black T. The beatdown from the Sooner Bruisers was good, and I like the name change, but are Black T still tweeners? With the Civil War pretty much over, I thought they'd revert back to heels by now. I guess not. I hope they go back to being 100% heels soon, because they just work better that way.

-The PRL/Drek vs. Alfdogg/Thunderkid match has been edited in. Just thought I'd let you guys know. Also, I wrote an commercial for the PRL/Thunderkid "I Quit" Steel Cage Match, which can be found before Bruce Blank's promo. So read that one too, okay?

-Bruce Blank vs. Ultimo Villano X was good stuff. Everybody loves the underdog story. I knew Villano had no chance, but it was fun while it lasted. Spraying Blank with the mist twice was a good idea. I loved the weapons used, and the ending was brutal! I've never seen a powerbomb through a dumpster before. That would be quite a visual. So was Blank backdropping Ultimo Villano into the crowd. Yikes. Does this mean Ultimo Villano X no longer wears a mask? The reason I'm asking this is because that's how Otaku II got unmasked, by getting his mask ripped by Brock Ausstin. The Cruiserweight Killer sounds painful. The match was good for two reasons: 1.) It gets Ultimo Villano X over as never-say-die underdog, rather than a patheic jobber. More 1-2-3 Kid than Brooklyn Brawler. And 2.) It continues to put Bruce Blank over as an evil son-of-a-bitch, and it makes you want to see Zack Malibu kick his ass even more. The more Bruce Blank does before AngleSlam, the more I want to see Zack Malibu give Bruce Blank just what he deserves.

-The LUDICROUS SPEED~! Lethal Rumble was awesome. Really it was. I just know Bohemoth and Brock Ausstin will fight one day. It keeps getting teased. MISTER WARRIOR is always funny, and this was no different. Nice to see the match being used to advance some storylines heading into AngleSlam. And of course, I'm happy to see that Tha Puerto Rican won, and can now challenge the OAOAST World Heavyweight Champion whenever he wants. When will I use that title shot? You'll just have to wait and see. Awesome match, and a good followup to the Torneo Cibernetica II last week.

Bottom Line: A great show. Loved everything. PRL winning at the end just added to it. I'm really looking forward to AngleSlam. It could be the best AngleSlam ever.

Match Of The Night: LUDICROUS SPEED~! Lethal Rumble Match. And it's not because PRL won it. Nope. Honest.

I'm glad you liked the Bruce/UVX segment - the tale of X is far from done although he'll probably need a little time to recover ;)

And no he'll no longer wear the Ultimo Villaño X mask (that's as much detail as I'll reveal right now ;) )

I've had a long weekend away so I haven't had time to read much else so I'll return with comments later
