Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2006 I still think moving the show to Sunday after NFL season is over would help the show out more. Tuesday is a loaded night as it is and it'll be so in the second half against AI. I would rather NBC give one of their best shows a better shot by sticking it on Sunday where it has a better chance of catching a larger fanbase. I think a problem the show has with catching on is that, at this point everyone who would be interested has read the book and/or seen the movie. While they have changed the name of the town, it's still about HS football in Texas. The ad's for the show haven't shown that its something different from those two things. I think they should have relocated the show from Texas to California or Ohio, where HS football is just huge there as it is in Texas. I think people might take to a different setting to a old premise differently.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2006 CBS, NBC call for backup By Nellie Andreeva and Andrew Wallenstein Thu Oct 12, 2:25 AM ET LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS and NBC are bringing in the midseason reinforcements for Tuesday and Wednesday nights with newcomer "3 Lbs." and returning drama "Medium," respectively. ADVERTISEMENT NBC also is throwing its cards down in the wee hours with plans for an hourlong poker series set to air Monday-Saturday at 2:05 a.m. CBS has slated "3 Lbs." to premiere November 14 in the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot previously occupied by "Smith," which was canceled last week after three airings. "3 Lbs." revolves around the relationship between a rising star brain surgeon (Mark Feuerstein), and the brilliant but unpredictable surgeon he works under ( Stanley Tucci). NBC will bring the Emmy-winning drama "Medium," starring Patricia Arquette, back to its primetime lineup in the Wednesday 10 p.m. slot recently vacated by low-rated serial drama "Kidnapped," which has relocated to Saturday. "Medium," entering its third season, is expected to move into the Wednesday berth by mid November. NBC declined comment. NBC did confirm Wednesday that it has greenlighted a new overnight entry, "Poker After Dark," that will air every night except Sunday at 2:05 a.m. "Dark" is a one-hour poker competition series in which six professional card sharks play in the back rooms of Las Vegas casinos for a $120,000 prize. "There's a vibrant late-night audience looking for original programming," said Marc Graboff, president of NBC Universal Television, West Coast. "We felt this inside look at the professional poker scene is perfect for late-night television and those viewers seeking an unique and original broadcast." The Saturday night edition, which will air at 1 a.m. ET following "Saturday Night Live," is a recap of the week's competition featuring commentary from the winner. "Dark" is hosted by Shana Hiatt, former host of "World Poker Tour."

Guest Hotbutter Spoontoaster Report post Posted November 1, 2006 It's official: NBC has pulled the plug on Kidnapped. Repeats of Law & Order: Criminal Intent will take over the show's Saturday, 9pm/8pm home beginning November 4th. Just 3.7 million viewers, including a paltry 1.2 rating/4 share among adults 18-49, tuned into the show's most-recent broadcast, making it the least-watched program on the night. The series had widely been considered dead by various industry insiders upon the announcement that it would wrap its storyline after its initial 13-episode run. In total just five of the 13 ordered episodes have aired, although it's not clear if production has been or will be completed on the remaining installments. those bastards! i, for one, was still watching on Saturdays.
