That our government is a bureaucratic clusterfuck at the federal, state, and city levels?

EDIT: Okay, yeah, I know you were being witty and all, but honestly, Kanye West couldn't relate to them any more than I could.

That people should get the hell out of the way when a giant hurricane is coming your way?

Wait, you're a teacher?

Granted, Kanye grew up in far more comfortable conditions than the poverty-level people who suffered worst from Katrina, and therefore couldnt exactly 'relate' to them...but he was the ONLY person, with the attention of the whole country, to stand up, ignore PCness, and let the Bush Administartion know in terms they might be able to understand that they were doing a tragic and embarassing job in New Orleans. And for that, he was ridiculed by everyone else in this country who are plainly too ignorant to know this was alot more than just, 'why dint they just get in there cars and get outta there?'

I was ridiculing him more for "they're coming to shoot us!" than anything else, but I see what you're saying. I mean, it's not like he didn't oversimplify the issue at hand as well.

Anyway, I've also learned that New Orleans wasn't really the 24-hour party I thought it had been. Seems like most of it kinda sucks.

That this will happen again in the New Orleans area in the next 50 years. And people will cry "Why didn't we listen!". And blame whatever robot is our president.

What have we learned? Let the wrong answers begin!

Don't build a major city in the equivalent of a giant soup bowl and surround it by levees that are rarely maintained?

It doesn't matter how many warnings you put out, people are either stupid enough to try and ride a storm out or just unable to leave for whatever reason?

Ray Nagin loves the taste of his own foot?

Its not too bright to build a major city on land thats several feet below sea level.

We can blame that on the French though.

Yeah..those silly french..

And whether or not you belive in global warming and all that jazz, theres indisputable proof that the sea level is rising which means NOLA is screwed permanently in a couple hundred years anyway just like a lot of major coastal cities.

Somehow I don't feel this is what Kotz had in mind here, but I'll shoulder some of the blame for that.

Well, what else can you say? The local government fucked up first and the federal government fucked up in not coming in and bailing their asses out before it was too late.

I think this is exactly what Kotz anticipated.

Another stupid town - Baltimore...their Inner Harbor was flooded by a hurricane too. We need more inland harbor cities.

So is NO a chocolate city yet?

Not until Hershey Park opens a second location down there. Then it can be renamed "New Orleans: Chocolate City"

Is Ray Nagin ever likely to be elected Governor of LA?

Also, it shows Bush is famous for getting caught with his hand on his dong when Emergency Crisis situations are pending or happening.

That if you're president and one of your major cities is about to get hit by a huge disaster, all you have to say is "We're praying for ya," and everything will be OK!

Bush's hand wasn't caught on his dong. It was on a guitar. Remember?

Hey, it almost looks like Dubya's crafted a G chord... wrong frets though.

We could if the city hadn't originally been founded by Spanish colonists.

But we bought it from the French. But yeah, your point is more valid.

I always wondered how that dude in the picture with the President and the guitar felt about the situation if he'd been watching or listening to the news on the way to the event.

"Um, say, Mr. President? We're honored and all, but don't you think you've got more important things to address?"

Great assessment, Crono! That photoshop has only been bouncing around the Internet since like, you know, ten minutes after the original picture came out. Now tell me: how do you feel about the Jesusland picture?
