Captain Clutch with a 2 run double to tie the game in the Bronx.

Arod grounds out to make it a 3-2 game now for the Yankees.

Cano just missed a 2 run homerun to end the inning.

I want to see the Twins and White Sox tied to end the season and force a one game playoff.

Two web gems so far tonight in the bronx. One by Fatsano to throw out a runner at second base and another by Cano and Guiel to end the top of the 8th.

It seems like the Cubs and Red Sox are pretty much interchangeable right now. Both teams have one good starter (Schilling/Zambrano), an offense that can't do dick and a shitty bullpen that includes one guy that is always used regardless of the fact that he blows (Dempster/Timlin).

I need a drink.

36 days 'til NHL season! Bruins @ Panthers! Be there lest ye be square!

And if you left NHL thanks to the cancelled season, 7 more days until the NFL season! Miami vs Pittsburgh!

Rod Allen is furiously gaining ground on Hawk as the most annoying homer in baseball. He sounded like JR as he exclaimed, "HE DID IT AGAIN! WHOOOOOOOO!!!"

That was pretty awesome, though.

Probably the best part of this is the reaction of all the Yankees "fans" around here. "YOU STUPID FUCKER!!! ROAR!!!"

You guys are eight and a half god damn games up on the Red Sox and we're almost in September. Shut the hell up.

Well, if they were THAT concerned, Rivera should have been pitching.

Boo'ing Proctor off the mound? Jesus...

This is the difference between loser cubs fans and Yankee fans. We strive for winning and you accept losing. Second place and loses are for losers.

How would you feel if you spent a couple of hundred to take your family out to see the Yankees just so you can see Scott Proctor blow the game. I would be pissed too. Yankees should be 5-0 against these horrible Tigers if it weren't for Clueless Joe putting bums into the games twice to close it out.

Nobody reacted like that.

Our 2nd best reliever gave up the lead in the 9th. Rivera had already pitched today. It sucks, we wanted to win this game. Shit happens.

83-50 is pretty horrible. Seriously, quit being a melodramatic baby and be happy your team is poised to win the division yet again. Nothing makes you happy. Absolutely nothing. I'm convinced the Yanks could win the World Series in five games and you'd be dwelling on them losing Game 3.

Granderson vs. LHP: .212 BA, .273 OBP

Granderson vs. RHP: .278 BA, .363 OBP

Someone explain to me why the lefty specialist in Myers wasn't brought into the game. Someone explain to me why Proctor doesn't challenge the league leader in strikesouts.

Granderson has 137 strikeouts this season and Proctor was nibbling around the plate.

Anglesault, give it a rest. The entire game was decided on a three run home run with two outs. You file that directly under "shit happens." They didn't lose the game because Proctor sucks, or because Torre made the wrong decision. They lost because baseball is a contest of equally skilled teams, and sometimes the other team wins, even if you do everything right. And if you're going to flip out every time your team wins a close game, you really need to re-think your priorities.

And before you respond, let me remind you about our rules concerning pbps, and that you're on a short leash.

Hell of a game in Houston tonite. Rocket and Dave Bush went toe-to-toe. It was scoreless in the bottom of the 9th. Mike Lamb got a single, Biggio followed with a single, and then the Brewers walked Berkman to load the bases with 1 out. Aubrey Huff came up to bat and hit a scorcher to first base. Jeff Cirillo dove for it and tagged first base while Lamb made a heads up play and came home from third. As Lamb was coming home, Cirillo threw to Damien Miller who simply stood on homeplate thinking the force play was in order, but it wasn't and Lamb scored. Great finish to a great game. Astros win their 5th in a row, and, presumably will be 2 out of the WC is Maddux does decent tonite.

Anglesault? HAHAHA. Maybe if you checked my ip address or my email address you would realize that I am not Anglesault.

I hope Verne Gagne gets the same talking to about him bitching about the Twins.

I also recall in my last post trying to strike up debate as to why Torre left in a right hand pitcher when Granderson is horrible against lefties.

All these people complaining about have good players on their team. Would you care to have Freddie Bynum as your second baseman?

And I giggle at the thought of certain A's fans who were demanding that Bynum make the Opening Day roster because he was out of options.

If the Angels lose tonight the A's will close out August with the second largest lead in the Majors. Didn't see that happening a month ago. I just want those last four games in Anaheim to close out the season to be irrelevent.
