C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2006 Huh, I missed this somehow. I had the wonderful opportunity to play with Maynard as well. My jazz band got to play back up for a song when he performed in my hometown. We got to meet and hang out with him for awhile as well. It was an incredible experience back when he still had his fastball working. I would say that I'm sorry to hear he passed away, but really he had an amazing life and lived for as long as we can really hope for, so instead I will say that he will be remembered fondly.
