Carlito Unhappy With Push

Recommended Posts

They've already slightly watered down the character. Not a full powerwash like they did to Cena but he's obviously a bit less gimmick and a bit more "bland guy who is just there" right now.

Of course, if he were to go back into his full cocky "das cool" mode, he'd look like a ripoff of Armando at this point, so there's no choice to go back, only further forward.

You know despite my earlier comments, I like Carlito as a worker and I really think he has all the potential to be a star. However, RAW is a live show. If you can't get yourself over on a live forum then to me blaming the company is just a major cop out. The sad thing is, this is my assuming wrestlers are allowed to put their own spin on things, and in reality they probably can't. If WWE wants new stars they are gonna have to stop scripting everyone's promos...

"He has every right to be upset. For a while there, he was someone important.....he was a big deal on Smackdown, and then he was a big deal when he moved to Raw. He was even in the main event of NYR. But the last couple months, he's been just an afterthought, cause we need more time for the DX / Vince feud I guess. Lame. It's kind of a shame, Carlito is being more interesting in the ring now and he does a good job playing a smug babyface."

I don't know if it's so much that he expects to be ME now or very soon, but that he lacks direction, plus if he has a .500 win/loss record on Raw, it's just barely so. (I think a lack of direction hurts wrestlers with strong characters more so than those without any characters to speak of, as the former tends to talk about their plans and then look like jackasses before the marks if they don't follow through). Marks are impressed by guys who rarely lose, an obvious case being HHH, but also newer guys like Lashley, Kennedy and now Terkay. Why couldn't Carlito be given a push similar to theirs on SD? For a guy who supposedly the Powers-that-Be support, he loses a helluva lot.

For awhile, it looked like Carlito would be feuding over the IC, then it looked like he'd be teaming with Trish against Edge and Lita, and now he's in a feud out of the blue with Randy Orton. (And Orton, himself, lacks direction and frankly, needs a win at Unforgiven even more than Carlito does). The Trish romance is pointless, as she's leaving soon and an interesting 'turn on Trish" twist is unlikely as he's a face and likely to stay that way for awhile. Next week, for all we know, he could be put back in a tag team with the newly-returned Masters. Now, a lack of direction is the case for most of the mid-card on Raw, unfortunately. Still, I wish that Carlito could have stayed on Smackdown, as it has always been easier to move to the top of the card there, and especially since the part-wilful/part unlucky decimation of its roster in recent months.

Carlito would fit in better right now on SD than he did in 2004-05. For one thing he's improved light years since then. Let's face it, he was truly dreadful at that point.

In some ways the fact that he was pushed before he had any clue might always haunt him, as does his embarrassing losses. The guy lost to Flair via the Figure 4 after Flair hit a move from the top rope. If that isn't burying a guy, I dunno what is.

The sad thing is that he's improved a lot this year, but he's done so much jobbing that no one takes him seriously, and thus if he beats someone no one takes that guy seriously since he jobbed to Carlito.

They want him to act like Scott Hall also?

Have you never seen Carlito?

I swear, the first week or two I saw Carlito it was like "Hey look, it's Rock Ramone."

He's always struck me as a little bit of the Rock (cocky heel who refers to himself in third person) with a little bit of Razor (From the same general area kayfabe-wise, likes to spit in people's faces (and yeah I know Ramone threw the toothpick, he didn't spit it, but the botom line is the same; tosses his gimmick in someone's face as a show of arrogance)).

Only difference is Carlito is better at it then Scott Hall, because you know Carlito is actually hispanic.

Honestly, who isn't being told to act like the Rock? The WWE NEVER tried to do this whole nostalgia bs until recently. Now it's everything they do. DX, ECW, McMahon as heel authority figure, bringing back SCSA, Cena trying to channel the Rock and SCSA in his promos, Hogan, the hall of fame, bringing up Bret Hart. this company sickens me.

I would say carlito needs a re-heel turn but given that cena is over 50/50 that hes going back to smackdown...they need to add some edge to carlito's face character

I thought the plan was for Cena to win the title at Unforgiven, and then lose it back to Edge at Survivor Series, which would be the end of the Edge/Cena feud.

I was actually very behind Carlito late last year. His Cabana segments were surprisingly entertaining, and the whole build-up to the Elimination Chamber this year was great as well. Since Wrestlemania though, he's been going downhill. He is a horrible face, the romantic storyline with Trish is just awkward to watch and stupid, and he himself just doesn't give a fuck anymore and has been putting on some really bad matches. The writers don't know what to do with him either.

Carlito was that dude to me for a while.

I thought he was gonna get to the main event and stay there for a while.

Now, he's gonna need one hell of a heel turn to put him back to where he was.

WWE has been using nostalgia since 2002. It's hardly a change in the company practice to be in this state. Especially in the case of evil authority figures and Bret Hart, often going hand in hand.

The Hall Of Fame, isn't really a nostalgic bs trend however. It's just an attempt to establish some appearence of credibility in a pseudo sport/carnival show and for McMahon to get his ego stroked by former/current employees.
