Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Anyone watching that East Carolina/UAB tell me what the hell just happened.
Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Meh... I liked the call by AF. You are two yards away from a huge upset, why not go for it? The Florida-Tennessee game next week should be awesome. Hell, there are a ton of games that should be awesome. I can't wait.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I read the gametracker and think I got it figured out. Huge pass from Pinckney (ECU QB), receiver fumbled just before the endzone, UAB covers it for the touchback and runs out the clock to win. Wonder if there were cameras at that came to catch it for highlights.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Road Warrior Animal's kid plays for the Buckeyes? I did not know that.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Makes sense. I was puzzled to how UAB had the ball at the 20. Good thing it wasn't on TV.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I saw Emmitt Smith on the sidelines of OSU/Texas and wondered why the hell he was there since he went to Florida and the game isn't in Dallas... then I saw they were using him to promote the latest Dancing with the Stars Shame on everyone involved
naiwf 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Meh... I liked the call by AF. You are two yards away from a huge upset, why not go for it? Because you're more likely to get stuffed on an option play from there than not. Go to OT and roll the dice. At least in OT you're guaranteed one more possession. Sad.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I know this is #1 vs. #2 and all, but for some reason I find this game somewhat...boring. I love defensive football as much as the next guy, but I'd like something to get me into the game.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Because god forbid ABC, oh sorry ESPN on ABC, do pointless celebrity interviews during the half hour halftime when it would far less intrusive.

The chances of converting the 2-pointer is less than 50%. You never know in OT. Bad call. It's like admitting you're the weaker team and need to rely on a single play. Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Speaking of ABC and detractions, have they shown A.J. Hawk's wife (who might be related to that guy from Notre Dame) in the stands yet?

I love defensive football as much as the next guy, but I'd like something to get me into the game. After last year's Texas/OSU game, USC/Notre Dame, and the Rose Bowl all lived up to the hype I think law of averages will set in this year and we'll have some let downs in big games. Hell the most fun I've had watching a game so far this year was the 4th quarter of the Akron/N.C. State game. But still time for this time be exciting. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I knew the lack of Vince Young would screw Texas over. Poise at QB has been the story. OSU has it and Texas has none of it. I predicted OSU and it looks like I might just be right with a football prediction for once......this is my one for the season. I only get one.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 And, to no one's surprise, McConaughey is on the sidelines and most likely drunk.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 It's probably pretty much over after that miss. I mean they don't have Vince Young to yank their asses out of the fire now.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 All the analysts said "Well you know even though they had Vince Young I think Texas will still win because they have all this talent." And I tried to say that there were those instances where despite all of that talent they still need Vince to be superman to win the game(Kansas in 04, both Rose Bowls, against OSU(ohio and oklahoma state) last year) and without that they weren't going to win when it came down to it! And I was right. I don't understand why none of these so called "analysts" even mentioned that. They'd just say "Yeah they'll miss Vince but look at the talent!" but they don't mention that that talent would've lose a lot of games without Young in the past few seasons. Is it smooth sailing for Ohio State to the national title game now? I mean Michigan might be hard but they haven't played to well against OSU for a while. I think OU may have figured out a way to beat Texas this year.....beat the hell out of Colt McCoy and he'll get rattled!
Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Ohio State up 24-7 now, that should do it. Count me in as being very disapointed by this game.
Guest Princess Leena Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Yeah, this game has been quite boring. And OSU's defense is tons better than I thought they were. I'd be surprised if they weren't in Tempe on January 10th, or whatever.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Of course, I hate it when OSU wins, but on the other hand the view of despondent burnt orange is pretty nice

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 I hope Bob Stoops is watching this game and taking notes. It's kind of cool that in this two game series they each took a veteran QB into their opponents stadium and won. If only we could get a third game to settle the score. Ok so I was right about this prediction....I was right on a prediction....the end is nigh.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 How far does Texas fall after this game? I have them dropping to about seventh.
Guest Report post Posted September 10, 2006 8th. They have no confidence, and no swagger. This won't be Texas' only loss. Ohio State on the other hand, they have a great chance of ROLLING through their schedule.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2006 Well they looked like absolute shit but it was against the #1 team in the country. Then again as #2 they shouldn't look that bad. 7th sounds fair. Does USC go to #2 or does Notre Dame make their way back up? Oh and CanadianChris since it appears you watched the OU game I wanted to ask you what your impressions of them were once they got going. You were saying it was a decent enough win and I thought they dominated the second half and looked impressive but I was wondering what an objective observer thought.
