Lil' Bitch Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 One of the most terrifying movies I have ever seen.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 The first one literally put me to sleep..so I guess it might be better than the first?
Gary Floyd Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 I hated the last one, so I'm not even going to bother. Yet, Bob wouldn't see "The Descent"...
Sideburnious Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 I got free tickets for this on weds night. The two friends I was with pussied out and gave our tickets to girls. We ended up seeing accepted instead...
dubq Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 It's pretty good. Probably better than the first remake, IMO. As usual, though, nothing beats the Japanese originals.
Anakin Flair Posted October 15, 2006 Report Posted October 15, 2006 Just tell me- does Gellar's character die, and if so, was it in the first 20 minutes? I hate movies like that.

Yes, she does although I'm not sure if it's the first 30 minutes. I wasn't paying attention to my watch but she dies pretty damn quickly. It's barely a cameo by Gellar. I'd say Jamie Lee Curtis's death in Halloween Resurrection was the only one more pointless than this.

If she does die (not going to say yes or no since I don't want to spoil it for other) it is needed. Obviously if anyone watched the first one you should know the answer to that. The end of the first film had SMG coming face to face with the spirit. Reguardless of the answer, she NEEDS to die in the sequal, otherwise the lore of what the story stands for doesn't really exsist.

AndrewTS Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 I thought it was lame, not the least damn bit scary, and occasionally interesting. However, pretty much as a rule I hate PG-13 horror. Not because I have to have gore, but you pretty much never get anything honestly disturbing and freaky. Crap horror I can let slide with some good gore, intentionally funny scenes, and nudity--but, as you can imagine that ain't happening here. SMG dies like 45 minutes into the movie. The really overdo the appearances of the catboy/ghost. By the time you get to the bus ride, it's damn downright comical. With a slight rewrite, this could have been Not Another Localized Japanese Horror Movie.
