Alright, so last night I was starting my match, and due to some people asking me to do some favors at very wrong times I didn't actually get started until after the actual deadline. And then as I began to write, I realized even I was bored by my match. In, I guess it was June, I took a month break cause we were on vacation, and I wanted a break anyway. After that, I haven't actually showed for two consecutive shows. I can't seem to be able to get back into the swing of things.

 

Vets, my question id this. How do I get back rolling after a break?

Can't help you here, as I've never taken a break as such, just changed characters.

Find a gimmick for the match.

 

There were lots of times when I'd sit down and try to start a match and I just could not get anything out. When that happened, I just started coming up with wierd ideas, jokes, gimmicks, whatever, to try and build the match on.

 

Raynor/Spark parodying The Matrix, XF9 hiding behind the Carnival Cardboard Cutouts, and the regrettably idiotic final ML match against Simon Flare where I wrote from the perspective of the cameraman, were all born that way.

 

Some of the matches I won, some of them I lost, but every time I was stuck I found it was easier to start writing when I had a solid (usually wierd) idea to build on.

yeah, the easiest way is to try and latch onto an angle or something that gives you motivation to write; i found that when i was heavily involved in an angle (the tag title drama from a couple years ago being a prime example), i showed a lot more consistently and actually looked forward to writing.

 

also -- and i suggest this for everyone -- if you find yourself lacking for ideas, TALK TO SOMEONE ELSE IN THE FED. this ALWAYS helps people out. tom is usually accessible on aim, and he has an almost encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling... back in the days of SWF chat dace night was always in there to bounce spot ideas off of, and he actually gave me the spot that won me the JL title. i'd also suggest forming a tag team; tag team matches are great for coming up with ideas. a lot of people write tag matches in two blocks, but when i teamed with zack and supes we'd just write until the match bored us, a tactic which works very well because if it's boring you to write it, it's probably going to bore a marker to read it.

It's still operational, but non-GOdrea, non-Australian people aren't common.
