TSN will break some North American ground Friday during the Rangers-Sabres game at Hot Sauce and Blue Cheese.

For the first time, a full game will be commentated from ice-level. I've kind of enjoyed TSN having Pierre MacGuire do interviews and commentary from ice-level, but a full game play by play? I don't know. When I covered hockey in college, I vastly preferred about being halfway up.

There'll be more on SportsCentre tonight, and I'm sure it's on tsn.ca somewhere...

Baron, I'll gladly renege on my statement of a week ago where I spun my tires over who Montreal's starter was. It's Huet...and yes, he deserves the Vezina.

But for a team in the middle of the pack in goals for in the East, let's hold off on that Hart assessment. The Habs biggest problem the last few years has been shots and goals for...now that it's improved, this isn't a case of Huet carrying them. I haven't assessed stats yet enough (and no one player really springs out at me yet) to name a Hart winner, but not Huet.

Good game for the B's last night ... winning a game that they really, IMHO, didn't deserve to win. Too many times this year, though, they've lost games they should have won, so it's good to have things spin right for a change.

Timmy Thomas - who I've been very critical of - stood on his head at times, including a Save-of-the-Year candidate to rob MSL of a goal. Glenn Murray made amends for a bad pass (that led to the go-ahead goal for TB) by scoring the tying just a few minutes later. Bergeron continued his hot streak (8 straight games with a point). Boyes scored for the 3rd straight game, including a sick backhander with the puck about 2.5 feet off the ice. And Kessel scored his first shootout goal to give the B's the win. (Let it be known, though, that I still detest the shootout).

All in all, a good win that'll hopefully keep the team headed in the right direction.

I wish the Senators could play Florida every single night. They FLATTENED the Panthers 6-0. Florida has now been held scoreless for their last 201:31.

Hmm...Florida can't score, Vancouver can't score, the Leafs and Habs are averaging two a game this week. I realise it's a dry spell for a few teams over the course of six or seven days, but I'm expecting a lot of panicky panellists coming out of the woodworks this weekend.

I think this is the first time I've ever heard someone say or do something interesting while wearing a mic for the broadcast.

You mean you don't like them forcing laughter and using the same hockey player dialog that has existed since the beginning of time? "C'mon boys! Get in the corners!"

That moment was the best thing about last night.

Laraque: Wanna go?

Ivanans: Yeah

BGL: Good luck.

Laraque had a smile on his face the whole fight, as did Ivanans.

Hawks-Blues:

Sanford is knocked out of the game at 6.15 with a busted knee, Legace is scored on thirty seconds later. I love the Denis Savard era!
