Okay, I've been running Bittorando for a while now and had no real problems with it til 2 weeks ago when all of the sudden AOL started signing me off like 5 minutes after I started a torrent(and these are well-seeded ones, too. At least 500 to 1,000 seeders and not many leechers). I've adjusted the settings to lower my connections and d/l speed somewhat and I'm still having the same damn problem and don't know what the fuck is going on. Oddly enough, I've actually managed to get two torrents to work this week, but with the other torrents I've tried since then, AOL's booted me offline.

What the fuck is going on?

Sounds like my problem: I have a brand new Telus modem (Telus is Western Canada's big telecommunications provider) and they've got it set so that you can't really use torrents. Causes the exact same problems, shut down the modem and can't do anything.

If you are having that problem, don't worry about it, walk away for a bit, and see if that helps. It usually takes a bit for it to "reboot" so to speak. Or at least so I'm finding.

If not, not sure.

My modem does something similar when I use BitLord. It will work for a few hours, then the conenction will just fizzle out and I have to unplug the modem for a few minutes. IT may be annoying, but try doing the same thing and see if it works.

Torrents put a heavy load on your modem/router with the many P2P connections it can use. Try lowering the amount of connection on your torrent client to as few as possible (I use Azureus and BitComent, both have this option).

Also, if you have Service Pack 2, Microsoft added a feature that only allows 10 simultaneous connections, and after that you'll seem disconnected.
