Big Ten bowl invites were handed out today with no surprises.

Capital One: Wisconsin

Outback: Penn State

Champs Sports: Purdue

Alamo: Iowa

Insight: Minnesota

Iowa is a good example of why they need to have more joint conference bowl tie-ins. They have absolutely no business getting into a halfway decent bowl with a 2-6 conference record.

Other than seeing potential pro prospects and greedy colleges getting more cash, is there really any other purpose to the Insight Bowl.

Why are you differentiating the Insight Bowl from every other bowl besides the BCS championship game?

I've got new predictions for the rest of the season. USC beats Notre Dame 34-24 Saturday. Gets crowned the second best team in the country by everyone in the media, moves up to #2 in the BCS. Then, just as they're all sucking each other dicks......

BOOM, loss to UCLA to end the season. USC plays Notre Dame or West Virginia in the Rose Bowl, and Michigan goes to the BCS title game where they beat the Buckeyes to become national champions.

Every team should smarten up and schedule their biggest game as the last of the season and as late as possible. Because what you say is so true, and has happened many times before. I honestly think Michigan finishing their season 2 weeks earlier will affect where they're ranked.

It was called the Copper Bowl.

And the Insight.com Bowl.

True. Except some cities do care about a lame bowl being played there. Nobody has ever given a damn about the B-Bowl in Phoenix. Only when Arizona or ASU is given a team to squash, and they don't get that right.

The big question is, will you bet the same way you are predicting?

I won't bet on USC this week even though I think they're going to cover because it's close enough that there's not huge value and I really want them to lose. Next week though, if the line's 7 or more, I'll definitely hop on UCLA.

I'm big on Oregon St., and my beloved losers NMSU for another week. Allez.

My pick of the week this week is actually Georgia Tech. It's the first time I've made a big bet on them all year, so it's not like I'm just being biased; I just think UGA's getting way too much credit for the Auburn win and certainly should not be getting points against a Top 20 opponent.

I'd like to know if you've watched the Bruins this year, because saying that their offense sucks is an understatement. Not that upsets don't happen, because it definitely could. I'm just saying that they suck.

The only full game I watched UCLA play was against Oregon State, and seeing as that's the best game they've played this year, I suppose it could bias me a little bit. I just think that USC has a lot better chance of getting knocked off after they feel like they've already won their big game to get into the national title game and they finally have to play away from the Coliseum.

I'm not buying that. USC/UCLA is always a big game, regardless of the circumstances. I think USC shows up motivated and just buries UCLA.

Hang on, UGA is actually favored against Ga Tech in that one? Oh God. Good grief, Georgia lost to UK this year. GT should beat the piss out of them.

Kentucky is also 7-4 and going to a bowl for the first time in a while. I'm not scared or anything, but am actually glad that Tennessee has a game against a decent opponent before their bowl for a change. The last three weeks for us are usually sleepwalking weeks with South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Kentucky at the end of every year.

Yeah but let's be honest. UK is still utter dogshit. They mostly scheduled themselves a bowl game with some home games against nobody teams. U of L beat the piss out of them with absolute ease, LSU blanked them in an assrape 49-0, Florida beat them pretty easy (26-7). UK just beat Louisiana-Monroe by 2 points, also beat a horrid Miss St. 34-31. Mind you, it'll be fun to see UK back in a bowl of some sort, but let's also realize that they have avoided Arkansas and Auburn in the SEC schedule.

Rich Brooks will likely get a new contract based on beating Georgia (who is way down this year), beating a few OOC scrubs, and some SEC cellar dwellers. Now if UK can beat Tennessee I'll be impressed, but they're more likely to lose 42-10.

Good call, I agree with you on that one. GT is just one of those teams I'll never bet on, though. As I despise Reggie Ball and how he fucks up every game.

They'd be ranked #6 or #7 with no shot at the title game and still needing to win against OSU and Nebraska to get into the Fiesta Bowl. In other words, nothing would change.
