USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Is FSU even getting in a bowl? Them being left out would accentuate the wackiness of football.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Is FSU even getting in a bowl? Them being left out would accentuate the wackiness of football. Emerald Bowl against UCLA.
devo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 This is a great game. Hoping Rutgers can put it to an end right now, but I wouldn't mind a bit of overtime either.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 I don't know, this is going to be one long ass field goal attempt. I guess with only 11 seconds it's worth a shot though. Higher percentage than a Hail Mary. Edit: And OT it is.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Damn. Short. I see West Virginia winning this game now.
Bored Posted December 3, 2006 Author Report Posted December 3, 2006 See Rutgers is a good example of why the bowl system in general needs an overhaul. If they win in overtime they go to a BCS bowl and a $14+ million payout to play a 10+ win team. If they lose in overtime they are heading to the Texas Bowl and a $750k payout to play a 6 win team. Does that make any sense at all?
devo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Nice work showing the guy with the "WEST FUCKIN' VIRGINIA" shirt, ESPN.

Vern Gagne Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Nice work showing the guy with the "WEST FUCKIN' VIRGINIA" shirt, ESPN. Someone should lose their job for that. It was on screen for a good 7 seconds.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Well, this shouldn't be short. Dead centre. I love watching college OT, even though it's the football equivalent of a shootout in hockey.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Not the most inspired playcalling by Rutgers on that series. But Ito bails them out.
iggymcfly Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Heck of a finish between WVU and Rutgers, going into the 2nd OT now.
Guest Felonies! Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 The USC hate is almost as bad as the Patriots hate here. OH DON'T FUCKING TRY.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Man, Ray Rice is a workhorse.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Oh hell yeah. Give it to Rice and let him pound it.
devo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Wow, nearly effortless. We're going to Triple Overtime.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Dumbest statement ever, regarding West Virginia, facing 3rd and 5 in OT down 7: "I'd imagine it's two-down territory here."
devo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 "You score in the third overtime, you gotta go for two." Uh, why? Edit: Thanks.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 "You score in the third overtime, you gotta go for two." Uh, why? Because it's a rule.
Guest Felonies! Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 I still can't get over "TSM hates the Patriots." Cartman is a fucking stroke.
Guest Smues Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Question: Has a division I-A game gone past 3OT since they instituted the 'you have to go for 2' rule in 2002?
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 This doesn't bode well for a potential two-point attempt for Rutgers.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Question: Has a division I-A game gone past 3OT since they instituted the 'you have to go for 2' rule in 2002? North Texas beat FIU in a SEVEN-overtime game just this year.
devo Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Ah, damn it. Oh well, it was still a terrific game.
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 Rutgers misses the deuce. West Virginia wins. I don't like setting the QB up in the shotgun when you only need short yardage. I REALLY don't like emptying the backfield in that situation. You're just telegraphing your intent to the defence.
mike546 Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 God damnit. The face on the Rutger coach after the failed conversion was really really depressing.
