Fo' sheez... Hawkins might have scammed $50 mil out of poor Alabama if he waited a year.

Well I have to say I honestly thought Lloyd Carr had Michigan focused and determined and I thought they would win. As it turned out, it was obviously another case of Carr not getting the job done in big games. The scrutiny he's received up to this point will most definietly intensify after this one. As a UM fan, I've felt for a few years now that the Big Ten in general doesn't have the speed to compete with Pac-10 and SEC teams. Now some teams like Ohio State have caught up and have had success with guys like Ginn and Smith. The game has changed on all levels. Look at an NFL team like the Vikings, who run the ball and defend the run extremely well but still end up 6-10. Just like OSU did, USC spread the ball out and torched UM. They didn't even attempt to run the ball after a certain point. Morgan Trent was getting killed out there. Leon Hall is a first round CB but unless you're Champ Bailey or Deion Sanders, the best WR's will beat the best DB's more often than not. I can't really tell you what happened with UM's O-line and D-line other than they didn't show up to play. Henne's a good QB but he hasn't taken it to the next level at the most critical times. I also think that UM's getting beat in recruting. They'll always have a top 10-15 recruting class but the likes of Florida, Ohio State, Texas, USC, and Oklahoma are beating. My aunt who works at the hospital in Ann Arbor pointed out to me during the game that Michigan also has a habit of hiring within the system. It may be time for the coaching staff to bring in some people outside of Michigan. I'm severely disappointed at UM's play today and Lloyd Carr is surely gonna have to answer to the critics.

EDiT: I knew USC could put up some points but I underestimated their D. It's easy to forget that Pete Carroll is a defensive guru.

Hey, let's kill all the suspense out of the lame $1 million football throw/kick at halftime. Oy.

Which houses the single greatest work of art ever donated to a university: This statue of a football player holding a cheer leader!

The producers at FOX creep me out. They always find about 20 random female girls to constantly focus on and spend a good 10-15 seconds airing their reactions or just show them standing there.

I think the last girl threw in 6 OMG!'s in 5 seconds.

I haven't seen any football robots yet. Product differentiation!

You know what else sucks? The Orange Bowl commercial with the Wake and Louisville players climbing the ladder to, like, heaven or whatever. That shit might vaguely fly for the NFL playoffs, but certainly not in college football.

Should've seen the ones from the start of the season with players from Texas, OSU, Oklahoma, Florida and all the big schools shoving each other off and falling onto other ladders and stuff. Like a TLC match but with college footballs players instead.

Boise State doing the one thing they could not let happen...get sloppy.

If they can answer with a long touchdown drive to get back to 18 then it'll be ok. But that was huge and really poor by the Idaho kids.

The worst part is, they had to decide it would be a good idea to go back to that commercial style for the Orange Bowl because they sure as SHIT didn't have Wake Forest in their earlier commercials.

Boise State NEEDS a touchdown drive right now. Hell, even a field goal drive.

If they can drive and eat the clock AND get points, it could be over.

But I'm expecting a turnover and a OU touchdown dammit.

I love Fox Sports. A story on Adrian Peterson scored to the Velvet Underground's "I'm Waiting for the Man," a song about buying heroin in Harlem. Considering that Peterson's much-ballyhooed and recently-released dad was in federal prison for dealing crack, someone at Fox is either really fucking funny, or totally inept.

This is the best thing Fox Sports has ever done. This seriously cracked me up. I'm amazed anything by the VU even made it on something like college football.

EDIT: And I'm guessing it was the former. If you're that inept that you don't get the significance of the song, it never would've crossed your mind to use the song anyway. So kudos to whoever managed to do something subversive within Fox.

There will be absolutely no interest in the Orange Bowl tomorrow night..I mean...Wake Forrest vs Louisville? It'll probably end up being a good game, but I doubt many people (including myself and I watched a WF game vs MD) could name 1 WF player. They can bust out the "cinderella story Demon Deacons" but its not gonna be as big of a victory as this Boise State win tonight.

FUCK that would have been the game. Now watch them convert.
