cabbageboy Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 I've got an easy reason why Austin is the guy: Vince keeps besmirching bald people. He keeps talking about how much of a disgrace Trump would be if he was shaved bald, so Austin can come in and be like "Vince, you got a problem with bald people?" Lashley is also bald, haha. Anyway, SD was a strong show tonight. WWE is hitting a real groove right now.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Decent show; Mercury took that Twist of Fate like a champ.
Wrestlefreak Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Another good Smackdown, except for the Mcmahon/Lashley and diva crap.

Ace Austin Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 so is kane fighting batista for the title i m pretty sure its not a title match
cabbageboy Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 I took a look at the MITB match, and aside from it now being 8 guys instead of 6 I'm not sure what the draw of this match is this year. The first match was mostly the curiosity of it, didn't matter who won. The 2nd match was to get RVD over and give him the shot to cash it at ONS. But this year? Who are we supposed to want to win this thing? Let's review the guys: Edge: He's already won it, so he's really just about the worst candidate to win. And he's a heel. Finlay: Much like last year, he's just there for a veteran guy to keep it going well. And he's a heel. Matt: Much like last year, just there for a few nice spots and not much else. Jeff: If he was in this without Matt, I might actually select him as winner. But with Matt, it's just the Hardys there doing spots. Booker: Been jobbed out of the title scene and I can't say I'm riveted with the idea of another Booker main event push. Just a solid veteran guy to put in there. And he's a heel. Punk: Very interesting idea really, and I bet he ends up the most over guy in the match. Still, would they really give the lone ECW guy the win here? I guess Punk could also cash it in at ONS like RVD and challenge anyone he wanted. Kennedy: He seemed like a favorite here, but given that he's been jobbed conclusively to Batista, UT, and Lashley does the world really need to see Kennedy win this? Would anyone buy him winning the title when he cashed it in? And he's a heel. Orton (I'm assuming): I think he and Edge are there to cancel each other out and further their own potential feud. And he's a heel. Honestly, who is the crowd supposed to get behind in this match? Probably the Hardys, but with both in there the crowd instinctively knows neither is winning. I guess Punk.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Being a heel doesn't mean they won't win. Edge was a heel when he won the first time.
