Geico Caveman-The Sitcom

Watched this tonight for lack of anything else catching my attention. It wasn't horrible like I was expecting. Some of the jokes actually made me laugh a bit. Overall, I'd say it was pretty average for a sitcom.

As a premise, Cavemen isn't that bad. Mullets was just horrible on every conceivable level. I didn't get why UPN felt mocking their top fanbase (wrestling) was a smart move.

 

Cavemen could be decent with better writing. I'm not so sure why this is supposedly controversial. You would have to make a big stretch to call this racist and even so, it's pretty tame compared to most network offerings. It's not an embarrassment to television, it's just boring.

The Mullets and The Pits (I wonder how many people besides me even remember that garbage show?) were easily the two worst sitcoms of this decade. Caveman is probably the lower (upper?) half of the bottom 10, somewhere with Quintuplets and Tracy Morgan's ripoff of The Cosby Show.

 

EDIT: Forgot to mention Baby Bob....my god what a terrible show that was. And then we had to deal with him as a Quiznos pitchman.

While Cavemen isn't really "bad"...there are no jokes there. I understand that yes, there were jokes, but nothing to laugh at.

 

I watched half of the first Mullett's episode cause I didn't realize that Smakdown was ending early for it. That was the worst piece of film ever committed to the TV screen

I liked Sons and Daughters as well. It wasn't anywhere near as great as Arrested Development, but it had the same type of feel of that and maybe CYE.
