cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Am I the only one that thinks that Shelly has the ability to be the "next" Chris Jericho. He seems like he would be able to carry a character like that.
cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Lynn vs Petey is a dream match of mine. I love that these are the final two!
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 This is the 2nd year they've done it, but i still don't understand why they're giving away a cage match 3 weeks away from an all-cage ppv. It just doesn't make sense to me. Oh yeah, and I can't believe they jobbed Shelley out so early. And to Shark Boy no less...
cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 The X-Division is supposed to be the fast-paced division where anyone can win at any time. I don't mind the job, especially in a match like this.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 That segment dragged a bit, but on the whole, I still think they're doing a great job setting up Lethal LockDown.
cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 I'm getting it anyway (only missed like 3 or 4 since they went to monthly), but they really are doing a good job hyping this PPV. I'm looking forward to the Lethal LockDown as well as the strong undercard.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 I hope that Young's "Trying to out-smart the pyro" makes it into the TNA game.
cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 That would be great, but probably not. Are they done making it yet?
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 This EY/Roode thing has a distinct Million Dollar Man/Virgil vibe to it (that was one of my fav angles of all time), though of course they aren't going to let it play out long enough to have the same effect. And Petey Williams has nothing on Roddy, though I mark for the CD.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Ouch....WM commercial during Impact. A lil' "who's your daddy?" from WWE?
cd213 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 As much as I am a fan of Tomko, I really don't think he should have been the guy the teams should have been fighting over. It should have been more for Abyss then Tomko.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Do they not realize how much of a chump Christian is coming off like in this entire angle? The guy has no control over his men at all, they all are trying to turn on him and get a title shot, etc. Why is he being such a coward here? He just won PPV matches against Angle and Joe! Is TYSON TOMKO really any sort of serious threat? Dude, just kick the jobber's ass and put him in his place as your lackey bitch. I even thought they had a possibly decent angle with Tomko feigning delight over being on Angle's team, only to then do the old NWO type turn a la Hennig and turn on Angle during the match and cost them. Of course Tomko just attacked Angle at the end of the show, thus killing off any potential intrigue or excitement.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Is there a roof for the cage if so somebody has to do the Sid powerbomb from Wargames!
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Is there a roof for the cage if so somebody has to do the Sid powerbomb from Wargames! If they do it like they did it year, the roof will be lowered when all 10 men are in the cage, with mid-match fireworks to prove it...lol.
Corkscrew_Senton 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2007 Well, that show played out better on TV than it did on paper. The "Dinner with the Devil" thing wasn't the ridiculous pile of crap I thought it would be. In fact, if it wasn't tied to such a bad angle, it would've been really good. The opening match was a sample of what TNA needs more of...good, 10-minute matches. I don't mind them trying to push Tomko, since he's got the look and is working hard to improve in the ring. But man, that was typical Russo to turn/re-turn him on the same show.
Chazz 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 I don't mind The Abyss is an attempted killer storyline, but It got a bit ridiculous on this past show, and I don't mean because the mother was revealed to be the shooter. It was how it was done. Storyline wise, I guess Mitchell is confident that no Law Enforcement Officals watch Impact,(especially the one's who prosecuted Abyss's case lo many years ago), otherwise what's the point of threatening to go to The Police when he just leaked it on national t.v.? I think a better way to do this would be if Mitchell "hypotetically" told Sting he may have some evidence against Abyss's mother and would go to The Police if Abyss defied him any longer. That's still lame, but it's at least a little better than what was presented, imo. Other than that, I thought the rest of the show was solid as usual.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 Yeah, the hilarious thing about the Mitchell/Sting/Abyss thing is that Mitchell was threatening Abyss with the notion of turning his mom in, but he was telling Sting earlier in the night.

luke-o 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2007 The X-scape match was good fun, great to see Shark Boy in the ring again. The thing i find confusing about the whole VKM/Hemme angle, apart from its stupidity, is that VKM are supposed to be the faces yet there being schovenistic pigs. How is that a face gimmick? Surely Hemme should be the face in this because shes the one that is right? The Abyss/Mother story had better go somewhere. Im really liking Cage promising title shots to everyone and anyone. The interaction with them all trying to steal the limelight is great.

How is that a face gimmick? Surely Hemme should be the face in this because shes the one that is right? I think that was the plan until the rasslin' fans turned on her. Hemme was intended to be the heel. The idea behind Hemme being the heel is that she represents the women who the wrestling fans can't get and so the fans are supposed to hate her because of that. The storyline is one of Russo's, so if it doesn't make sense, now you know why.
