Guest BLBTMLFan Report post Posted April 4, 2007 I was booting through some of my favourite funny/dumb sports quotes of all time. Ian Rush On the difficulties of adjusting to playing football and living in Italy: "It was like being in a foreign country" Terry Venables "If history repeats itself, I should think we can expect the same thing again" Ron Atkinson "I never comment on referees and I'm not going to break the habit of a lifetime for that prat." Don Schula "Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck." Pat Williams "We can't win at home. We can't win on the road. As general manager, I just can't figure out where else to play." Tommy Lasorda Asked what terms Mexican-born pitching sensation Fernando Valenzuela might settle for in his upcoming contract negotiations: "He wants Texas back." iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 1. "Lieu" is not spelled "Lew" 2. This topic is an inappropriate spot to use "in lieu of". 3. Don Shula's name does not have a 'C' in it. 4. In summary, you don't appear to be too bright. At least the quotes were mildly amusing though. You can stay for now.

Athletes often have to write many autographs in a short period of time, so their writing tends to resemble pigeon-scratch. Sometimes you can see a noticeable decline in a signature from a player in his rookie year and when he's 35-40.

RepoMan 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2007 That's one of the more legable autographs I've seen. When I was a kid I used to get autographs from a variety of Rochester Red Wings, and being AAA players I couldn't put a face to a name, so I had a ton of balls I have no idea who signed them. That's the most legable autograph I've seen since Esteban Yan.
