Hunter's Torn Quad Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 I'd be very interested to see what the figure of casual fans with Internet access is, people keep throwing percentages around, but i'm sure it has to be more than ten percent. It's not the number of casual fans that have internet access, it's how many of them care enough to visit any wrestling news sites. For the vast majority of the casual fans, their interest in wrestling begins and ends with Raw or Smackdown. They don't care about it enough to seek out more information.
TheFranchise Posted April 29, 2007 Author Report Posted April 29, 2007 Perhaps. Personally, i'd say this was the best 'smarkish' wrestling board on the Internet, perhaps there are some I haven't found, but a lot of marks that I talk to on MSN who think that HHH returning this year will be the third coming of Jesus, they are members of this place and often know a lot of 'inside' news that you say people don't have access too. All you have to do is type in WWE on a search engine and it wont take long to find Rajahwwf or something similar.

All you have to do is type in WWE on a search engine and it wont take long to find Rajahwwf or something similar. I didn't say marks don't have access to the news. Just that casual fans don't usually seek it out. They're called casual fans for a reason. They tune in on Monday or Friday, watch the show, turn off, and then go do something else. Sure, you'll have a small percentage who are either eager for more information or just flat out curious, but for the majority of the casual audience, they're satisfied with what they get on TV.
TheFranchise Posted April 29, 2007 Author Report Posted April 29, 2007 Well, whether they seek it our ot not, they'll most likely stumble on it. I stumbled on this place when I was at college because I was bored, it's easy to happen. Anyway, I'll accept you valid points rather than drag this thread even further off topic.
luke-o Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Is it wrong that i'd like to see Randall win tonight? C'mon, it would be funny.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Hardys are up first. Let's have a look for the Redneck Destroyer. Or Code Redneck. heh.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Is it wrong that i'd like to see Randall win tonight? C'mon, it would be funny. Must be just us English folks. Is it me, or is Lance Cade looking like Barry Whindam?
Art Sandusky Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 (cough)pmstreamifthereisoneplz(cough)
luke-o Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Sorry Art, but us lucky Brits get this one for free. God bless Sky Sports.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Sorry Art, but us lucky Brits get this one for free. God bless Sky Sports. *looks at the clock* I have to get up for work in four hours, I don't think i'm too lucky to be watching Trevor Murdoch. SS are showing the replay on Tuesday night, which is my busy night. Meh, i'm just bitter about Derby today.
Art Sandusky Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Sorry Art, but us lucky Brits get this one for free. God bless Sky Sports. I don't mind, you guys suffer enough.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I predict Murdoch eats Swanton for the Hardy win.
luke-o Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Sorry Art, but us lucky Brits get this one for free. God bless Sky Sports. I don't mind, you guys suffer enough. Touche. I have to get up for work in four hours, I don't think i'm too lucky to be watching Trevor Murdoch. Lucky (i guess) for me, but i dont have University tommorow, but i do need to do some work on my dissertation.
Hawkius Maximus Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I know of two streams. The first you have to pay for, but is uber high quality. Too much for me to stream. The other is free, but really bad quality, to the point that the video skips. If anyone knows anything in the 150-230 KBPS stream range, lemme know.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 This hasn't been a bad little match, but it's nearly over and they've stretched it quite well.
luke-o Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Its lucky Murdoch moved Cade out of the way on that corner spot cause Jeff was gonna fuck that up.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 I predict Murdoch eats Swanton for the Hardy win. You get a cuck-e.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Now will they be smart and do a 20-30 minute U.S. Title draw? Given that Benoit/MVP had such a match, are capable of working it, have ANOTHER PPV next month they can work, and the crowd just saw a match twice as long this week and ate it up? I'd love the marks/'net/whoever to both think "Damn, MVP shoulda won that." Or do we get "MVP hits Benoit with the title belt"...
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 Look! The women's division is in the ring!
trackc53 Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I wanna text Orton! What is this in reference to?
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 WM 23's AT&T "Text Voters" picked Cena and Taker to win, for what that's worth.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 I wanna text Orton! What is this in reference to? Text the name of the person you want to win to someone.
SamoaRowe Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 AWESOME heel move by melina! For the benefit of those of us too cheap or broke to buy the show, what exactly was this?
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 She spent about 30 seconds very realistically making it look like her contact lense had caught her eye badly, and then just blindsided her. Melina wins.
TheFranchise Posted April 30, 2007 Author Report Posted April 30, 2007 KENNEDY! Kennedy makes reference to maybe using his MITB shot tonight.
UseTheSledgehammerUh Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 What a bullshit stupid ending. A CONTACT LENSE? I remember Arn Anderson writing a piece in WCW magazine about how he wrestled WITHOUT contacts, despite having extremely poor eyesight. So now wrestlers with contact lenses are supposed to be treated as if they're physically handicapped and the match needs to be held up? So the ref says "WAIT, STOP, SHE LOST A CONTACT! DEAR GOD!" While, yes, it is a sneaky heel move, it also screams "Women's Wrestling - Don't Break a Nail!"
The Truthiness Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 That split sequence was pretty awsome.
