Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 Fight Sports Midwest, in association with NWA Midwest, presented "Chapter Two" on Friday night, May 11th at Camelot Sportsplex in Portage, IN. Here are your quick results... 1. JIGSAW def. GRAN AKUMA with the Jig-N-Tonic. 2. METAL MASTER (from Michinoku Pro Wrestling in Japan) def. SHANE HOLLISTER. 3. TWEEK & DASH PHOENIX def. VITO & SAL THOMASELLI (w/ Kimberly Kash) when LACEY came to ringside to neutralize Kash. This took the attention of both the referee and Sal Thomaselli long enough for the twins to switch places, allowing the fresh man to score a quick pinfall on Sal. Lacey walked out with the Phoenixes, raising their arms in victory. 4. JOSH ABERCROMBIE def. HUMAN TORNADO with the Taliban Backpack. 5. ALEX SHELLEY def. LOW KI via pinfall with a modified STO in roughly 20 minutes. 6. "Threat Level Midnight" TRIK DAVIS & BILLY ROC def. MAREK BRAVE & RYAN EPIC, "The North Star Express" RYAN CRUZ & DARIN CORBIN, and CJ OTIS & TRUTH MARTINI in a four corners tag team match to earn entry in the NWA Indiana State Tag Team Title Tournament, which will be held on August 11th in Portage. Since Davis scored the pinfall in the match, he also earned entry in the 2007 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup in Orlando this July. 7. AMAZING KONG retained the NWA World Women's Title in a wild falls count anywhere match against ANN BROOKSTONE. The match went all over the building, with very hard hitting exchanges between both women, and use of several chairs during the bout. Kong finished off Brookstone after powerbombing her through a table on the floor. Brookstone had to be taken to the hospital after the brutal match. 8. EDDIE KINGSTON def. JOEY RYAN following a Lariat. Immediately after the pinfall, BULL PAIN hit the ring with his baseball bat and attacked Kingston, busting his head wide open. 9. ARIK CANNON def. JOEY MERCURY after hitting him with a foreign object and then following up with the Glimmering Warlock. 10. MARTY JANNETTY pinned TYLER BLACK (w/ Jimmy Jacobs) with a superkick. After the match, ARIK CANNON left the commentary table and started to slap Tyler, until Jannetty came to his aid. Jannetty and Black then hit the Rockers double team fistdrop to leave Cannon laying. 11. "Lightning" MIKE QUACKENBUSH def. TIGER MASK IV to win the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship. During the match, Quack continually tried to undo the laces on Tiger Mask's mask to try to unmask him, but was unable to get it completely off. Late in the match, with the laces loosened, Quack was able to completely unmask him, and quickly pinned him with the Alligator Clutch to score the win. Tiger Mask's face was quickly covered up with a towel by NWA officials. Quack looked into the cameras filming the match and asked "Japan, do I have your attention now?" before walking out with the title. Smart Mark Video filmed the event for DVD release, with commentary by Dave Prazak, Eddie Kingston, Bryce Remsburg, Jigsaw, Arik Cannon, Tyler Black, Jimmy Jacobs, Lacey, and Joey Eastman. FSM returns to Portage on July 13th. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2007 Is Fight Sports Midwest an actual promotion or some type of off-shoot of NWA Mid-West? It certainly looks like they're headed in the right direction. Looks like a solid show. Hopefully the Mike Quackenbush storyline plays out, the start certainly caught my interest. ICWICWA? What a name. Haku vs. Homicide, that could be a train-wreck. Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2007 Fight Sports Midwest is its own promotion that's affiliated with NWA Midwest, much like NWA Indiana, NWA Wisconsin, IWA Mid-South, etc.

JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Thanks to Smart Mark Video's Mike Robles, here are comments recorded for Japanese television just moments after Mike Quackenbush defeated Tiger Mask IV and won the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Nice promo by Quackenbush, the cocky attitude fits him nicely. Hopefully he'll have a lengthy run with the title.
Broward83 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Almost looks as if he's reading off a cue card or something... Other than that, for never seeing him before this.. the promo comes off pretty nice
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Almost looks as if he's reading off a cue card or something... There were two cameras there, one for the FSM DVD and one for New Japan Television, and he was looking back-and-forth at both of them.
