Vanhalen Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 I currently use shareaza and limewire, ive heard good things about soulseek, what would you guys recommend?
Obi Chris Kenobi Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 Been ages since I've used anything like that, whenever I do its usually to get hold of Bootlegs, which I use DC++ for.
Craig Th Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 If anything, use a bit torrent P2P program. Those are the best.
Golgo 13 Posted May 14, 2007 Report Posted May 14, 2007 Soulseek for music, Shareaza for everything else, but yeah, torrents as an absolute first option.
Mr. S£im Citrus Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 If anything, use a bit torrent P2P program. Those are the best. A which?
Renegade Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Bittorrent. With sites like Oink, demonoid and cheggit you never need to use any other p2p ever again.
Vanhalen Posted May 15, 2007 Author Report Posted May 15, 2007 Tbh I thought I could gorge myself on bittorrent, but I'm having real problems getting it to work with my router and firewall.
Gary Floyd Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 Soulseek for music, Shareaza for everything else, but yeah, torrents as an absolute first option. Agreed. I've found insane amounts of music thanks to Soulseek.
Golgo 13 Posted May 15, 2007 Report Posted May 15, 2007 True. For rarer and independent music, as well as stuff that can't be found on torrent sites anymore for whatever reason, it's very good. The folder download option is a godsend too. The only knock I have against it is the lack of multi-source. Which is why for more popular music guaranteed to have more peers, I still refer back to Shareaza. Also, Shareaza uses the Gnutella2 network as well as Limewire's (among many other clients') Gnutella. So unless you have problems connecting to G1 through Shareaza it's kind of pointless to have both.
