TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Huston Street became about the 20th A's player it seems this year to go on the DL. Justin Duchscherer might be following Street on to the DL so tonight the A's tried Alan Embree and Jay Witsick to close it out and shockingly it didn't work, blowing a three run lead in the 9th to the f'n Royals. Also the A's have so many players unavailable tonight (Marco Scutaro started in right field) that back up catcher Adam Melhuse is the only available player on the bench. Nick Swisher pulled up a bit lame going for a flyball in the 9th and the game might be going to extra innings so this could get interesting. Both former Yankee busts as well. Guest Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Furcal is having some game tonight. I think I love Andy LaRoche. Most young hitters don't have half the patience that he does.
Guest George's Box Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Upon returning to New York on Monday, former Met Cliff Floyd said he was surprised at his relative lack of playing time with the Cubs. "A lot of things we talked about earlier in contract negotiations hasn't worked out," he said. "I thought I'd be playing more." Fuck you. You're Cliff Floyd. You're old and crippled. You're not entitled to play a single out. Nobody is beholden to your "contract negotations" about playing time. Take the money our dumbshit Krispy Kreme receptacle squandered on you, get paid to watch a ballgame for 8 innings, and hit off the bench, or get off the north side. You're a redundancy. strummer 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2007 Oh man Czech, it's Cliff Floyd. That's just the beginning. He complains about *everything*. On his return to Shea: Floyd, on playing at Shea: "I hated it. They have the new one (stadium) coming (in 2009), which will be great. But the old one is old and terrible. I didn't like it one bit – walking (through) that puddle of water to get to the clubhouse every day."
Guest George's Box Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Rangers-Rays from Disney is on ESPN. This looks really bad, having a major league game at a spring training facility.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Yeah, it is kind of a 'Mickey Mouse' ballpark. Edit: Hunter Pence just hit a damn homerun that probably is going to end up in Dallas somewhere. His 3rd HR in 4 games. Screw Josh Hamilton! Hunter Pence all the way, yo.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 The Os got swept by Toronto..(or its gonna happen in about 5 min) Mission #1 Accomplished in the race to be the biggest joke in baseball..now they just lose 6 more in a row..to DC and KC which will more than likely happen because this team couldnt beat a blind guy in pictionary. vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 That's not like you to take the easy route, viva Edit: Hunter Pence has 3 HRs in his last 9 at-bats. He went 3 for 3 last nite and he is 3 for 3 so far tonite to raise his average to .344. How much longer until he starts getting compared to obscure, early 20th century flash-in-the-pans? CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Damn, I had replaced Hamilton with Pence on my fantasy team, but changed my mind at the last minute.
vivalaultra 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 And another hit for Pence. 7 for 7 with a BB in the last two nites. Edit: And he just stole a base. I'm just upset that I tried to add him as my myspace friend and he hasn't approved me yet.
strummer 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 I think "Smartball" means making as many outs on the basepaths as humanly possible. But that Ozzie is a genius!

devo 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 So, MLB.tv got rid of the abominable Right Guard commercial and in its place is a slightly less annoying ad for Dick's Sporting Goods. Now the problem is that not only is every video prefaced with it, so are the commercial breaks for the games themselves. Absolute insanity. If 700k got rid of these ads altogether, I'd switch to it in a heartbeat. As it is, I'm sure as hell getting Extra Innings next year.

Guest George's Box Report post Posted May 17, 2007 So, MLB.tv got rid of the abominable Right Guard commercial and in its place is a slightly less annoying ad for Dick's Sporting Goods. There's a new strip mall in Kildeer that was being built a few months ago, with the only announced tenant at the time being Dick's Sporting Goods. We were driving home from Christmas shopping when my mom spotted the mall in progress and wondered out loud "I wonder what else goes in there besides Dick's." I've never fought harder to stifle laughter.

Put them in between innings fine (even though that still sucks and I liked the pacman thing), but loading them first before the game means I can't quickly load up a specific at bat I want to see. Lame.

Bored 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Since Huston Street got hurt the A's bullpen has given up seven 9th inning runs in three games to the Royals. I need to stop watching baseball.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 Id love to make a positive post about the Orioles but theres very little positive about them right now. They get a decent pitching performance the last two nights and the bats are deader than King Tut...they actually score runs and the pitching on one end or the other blows it. They cant lose tomorrow since they're off, at least..thats what my grandmother would always say. Even if they manage to win games vs DC/KC, which at this point is doubtful, its not going to boost morale any for anyone because they SHOULD win those games if they are in fact better than the worst 2 teams in the league. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 The only bad thing about tonight's Phillies game is that Turnbow didn't get rocked again. Loving the production from the likes of Ruiz (who has hit a HR at the last 3 games I attended now!), Nunez (somewhat), and DOBBS~!. Brewers have some decent pitching and some on-again/off-again stud hitters, and they're in a kinda shitty division (or at least it appears that way early), but I don't think they're a team that can hang with the N.L.'s best. Old man Moyer for the 4-Game Sweep tomorrow! I'm going, so Ruiz better hit another dinger.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2007 On Baseball Tonight, the retards interviewed Hunter Pence. "So I gotta ask you, the name 'Hunter', where did you get that?" "Uh...it's...my name..." "Yeah, sorry, it's just peculiar!"
